Hi piq I have been a lurker on your diary for a long time and enjoy your animal stories.
We have cats called Jethro and Dinah in our family . Jethro comes from the same mould as Colin he looks big and brave but is actually a wimp with personality and attitude !:) Dinah is a new addition but is shaping up to rule the roost.0 -
Moving away from cats, my daughter's new-ish Springer is Walter, after my late father in law, who was born in 1905. I like unexpected names for animals.
We had a gerbil called Wilfred, after the explorer Wilfred Thesiger, both my son's (female) corn snake and my brother's male cat are/were called Oscar.
I share some of your joy in the RA. I used my lovely soup maker that Amazon gave me to review again today. Exactly the weather for it. They gave me a lovely Jamie Oliver food processor too last year.
I'm not 100% certain I would use a mixer fully as the JO has a mixer attachment and the soup maker blends too. I still have my old 34 year old Krups hand mixer that I can't part with, it was a gift from friends when I lived in Germany.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Damn i missed you, I think you were still at the hairdressers ! Theres always tomorrow
Oh and as I don't want to be left out, can our cat, whose middle name is David, after Mr Beckham come out on the pull with Colin and Keith and all the other oddly named cats out there please ? I Am sure he would have fun !! We have had Scat the Cat , Liquorice Allsorts and Black Jack in our family before, which I suppose are all slightly odd names. There must be lots of embarrassed cats out there ! xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Perhaps Jeeves could join the party too - he could pass round the (fish) sarnies? He's very dapper .....
Get real cake!!! Colin would then be in the embarrassing position of having mugged the butler for the fish paste sarnies and told all his guests to s*d off his sandwiches - officially Colin No Mates...:rotfl:

Hello gig:wave: lovely of you to join the menagerie!
Another big bruiser that's a closet coward, or in the case of Colin an under the bed coward, huh? Funny how often it's the tiny ones to be wary of. I've thought about getting a young female cat about a year old but have a feeling Colin would be under the paw very quickly, not sure if it's fair on him or not. He's already out and about with the cat next door, I've seen them sitting together in the rare patches of sunshine that we've had.EssexHebridean wrote: »We used to have a cat called Muffin. I'm currently making shortbread hearts that will be dipped in chocolate for all my elderly gentlemen tomorrow. The red beauty is working for her keep! The mix is chilling in the fridge waiting to be rolled out in about an hour, giving me time to wander round the diaries and do my daily finances.
Work was long and boring last night. Thought I was be followed again so did a round five mile trip until there were no cars behind me or the glow of headlights in the distance. Looks like it will take a while to get over it.
Nothing very interesting to report I'm afraid, boring old life here!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
