Keren, no one has the right to say those things to you. Is he bloody mr playboy? To be honest I'm not so bothered about what he thinks, I'm worried about what's happening to your confidence. To be honest it seems to me as if this man has some confidence issues himself and the only way he can feel better is by having you believe that he is better than you, you can't manage without him, no one else would want you etc etc. This isn't a reflection on you, it's how he feels about himself, but of course he is projecting it onto you (my dad made me go and do a proper degree, to get a proper job in psychology in case you wonder where the psych-babble comes from... didn't work, graduated then went back to music... anyway I digress).

I seriously suspect that your OH is terrified of being alone, he probably feels no one else will have him, that he's aging, and all of the rest of it. Look at it logically, why would anyone who felt they were worthy of a wonderful relationship with miss perfect be in a relationship with someone (they say) they think so little of? I don't doubt for one second that your OH sees you do things he wishes he had the strength to get up and do for himself, you have sorted out your debt, stood up and won against a nasty bully, have a nice home, working for yourself, in a nutshell you are really in control of your life and your future... is he?

I also believe that if you do stand up and tell him you feel you are worth more than the treatment he is giving you, he'll huff and puff, insult you, tell you you'll end up alone and in the gutter, you're lucky to have him etc. He'll storm off, then after a few days, he'll be crawling back. Because he needs you an awful lot more than you need him, I believe that and so do you deep down under the damaged self esteem.

Tigtag, at least your lovely new hdtv wasn't bought on finance at 24% apr - you might have blown your savings, but it WAS savings, so don't be too hard on yourself.

Hmmmm....a shiny new hdtv would go really well with my new dvd recorder....lol!

another new gaming system... i say another because i have had so many and i say new but i have had that one before but old style... i have been mulling it for weeks and the driving thing pushed me... i didnt... i watched the e3 presentations last night (bad move) still didnt buy one :T i think i am combatting my spending on impulse/because others have it/beacuse i want not need it... good eh
