I feel 30% is a "fair" figure, Mrs. K. does too (she's the mathematician ;)). My parents seem to think 22.5% is "fair" but most things they deem to be "fair" in business are anything but. Whilst I will go for 30%, really I'd rather it be 27.5% (so I end up retaining over 70% of cash and assets). Not sure that's very coherent.

I do understand the need to move on as well so we shall see how the negotiations pan out. I would rather not put exact cash figures or go into great detail about business on here though I am very appreciative of your help. (Hope you understand this). :)

Not all the start up capital got spent, around 60% is still there.

No need for real figures here . We get the jist.:)

Thank you :) and enjoy your holiday ... just the thought of it is making me rather green-eyed. ;) Mrs. K. and I have agreed we aren't having a holiday next year.

    Hi,

It's being offered in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Older lady behind me was great. Lecturer was going thro the curriculum and mentioning links to social policy, psychology etc and she piped up..."I'm wanting nane o' yer numbers stuff son. Just tell us aboot murrrrrrderrrrrs."

I think he'll have us work cut out!

And on the subject of mini-k, you're doing everything right for him. No reason why he'd want you out of his life, your his dad and always will be.

It will be our last for a few years I think.....as we have the other place to renovate too......which should then give us free UK beach holidays for life :D Think flasks, cagoules and stripy windbreaks.

I booked this a couple of months back on impulse and it wasn't too pricey as we have a villa/pool and I booked flights separately.

:rotfl: Well you've amused me before bedtime :D.

I suppose I just wonder if my son will grow up to think of me as one of life's losers as my parents do. Still, I really hope you're right as I try my best with him everyday, even when I feel awful there's always a smile for him. :)

Sounds great, I've never actually had a real seaside holiday, Mrs. K. has though when she was a child. You've just gave me an idea that I think "mini-k" ;) would really enjoy, thank you. :)

Yes, that is often what we have done - booked a hotel (usually) though occasionally a villa and then sorted flights out.

Alex your not one of lifes losers and shame on your parents for even thinking that of their son. Iv never met a loser who has a musical talent and runs a business.
Losers are people who think that putting down other people makes them a better human being.

For the first time in over a week I've had a proper night's sleep, feeling awake and ready for the day for once. :)

snookey: Thank you. :) I understand my parents reasoning, they were very successful throughout their own careers.

I'm sure you've thought of this already, but are you taking your start-up capital out of the 'pot' before splitting the rest 20:80 (or 35:70)? It wouldn't seem far to include the start-up capital if you're the one who put it all in.

Edit: Doh! That should have read 35:65 (I can do maths... honest!)
    Mortgage when started: £330,995

Good luck to you and little K today. I bet he has an amazing time. A friend of mine's daughter started this week and within 20 minutes she was telling mummy to "Go away I don't need you!". Kids are pretty tough and resilient.

And as for him not wanting to have contact with you when you're older, that is just a nasty brain thought. Is there any factual evidence to support that this might occur? No. It's just one of those nasty brain worms that come part and parcel with depression and mental illness. Recognise that that is what it is, and then let it bother you no more! :)

Evening Alex, how's your day been? Did Mini-K enjoy himself?
