  • Gosh. How much do I want to know that you've done what any normal parent has done. Been to nursery, cried with guilt, and got through it today or maybe another few weeks . Good luck

    Hello everybody,

Sorry I'm so late getting on here tonight been practising the final movement of the Bruch Concerto all evening. :o

Nursery was, shall we say, a mixed bag. Son really enjoyed himself (wondered off as soon as he got there with nothing more than a "bye, daddy") and he made some new friends. However, it was not without an incident. Mrs. K. couldn't go because she had to stay at work a little later than anticipated and I apologised to the lady I had spoken to last week.

Leaving was very difficult and I'd rather not admit this but, yes Bess a few tears were shed, not in front of anyone, thank goodness.

    Thursday 26th September, 2013.
    Day 25.

    Dear Diary,

Yet again I have failed to make any headway on the debt situation, thus making me feel as if I am letting down the side. However, it has been another busy one with another business deal being made, two new enquiries for music lessons and of course, my son's first day at nursery.

My day started early with our little boy spent all morning excited running about the house, gathering all his things to take to nursery. In all honesty, I was surprised that he was looking forward to going so much. However, I shouldn't have been as he is always fascinated to see children his age. Disappointingly my wife had an emergency at work and was unable to see our son off on his first day; this evening she seemed rather dejected about the whole affair.

Just as many had told me would happen, our boy settled straight in and I was left in a fairly distressed state about leaving him alone with a woman I had met only once as well as an unruly bunch of other lively kids. Furthermore, as many had said on here, he didn't miss me or his mother in the slightest though the four and a half hours did not entirely run smoothly due to our son unexpectedly regressing. Even so, it didn't upset him too much and we have booked him in for a second session on Tuesday and a subsequent session Thursday next week upon his demands to go again.

    Summary:
    -£20.00 Nursery fee.
    -£3.80 Afternoon coffee.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Alex.

I'm sure you've thought of this already, but are you taking your start-up capital out of the 'pot' before splitting the rest 20:80 (or 35:70)? It wouldn't seem far to include the start-up capital if you're the one who put it all in.

    Hello there,

Thank you for the advice. :) Yes, we have, well we did today. :)

Good luck to you and little K today. I bet he has an amazing time. A friend of mine's daughter started this week and within 20 minutes she was telling mummy to "Go away I don't need you!". Kids are pretty tough and resilient.

And as for him not wanting to have contact with you when you're older, that is just a nasty brain thought. Is there any factual evidence to support that this might occur? No. It's just one of those nasty brain worms that come part and parcel with depression and mental illness. Recognise that that is what it is, and then let it bother you no more! :)

:rotfl: He wasn't that blunt, thank goodness. :)

No there isn't any factual evidence, I just wonder if I'll be his pathetic father who could never do good enough. :(

Do you mean he 'had an accident'? That's not regressing, that's being too busy to remember he needed 'to go' :rotfl:.

Um, yes. Mrs. K. and I were rather disappointed as we had both spoken to him regarding this beforehand. Well, on wards and upwards.

  • Will Mrs K be able to see him off next week? Hopefully that will make up for her having to miss it today.

    Hi Alex,

He's still a baby. He was excited and pre-occupied with much better stuff than going to the loo.

Take comfort, mine started school with nappies in his backpack. He saw no reason why he should waste time not playing when he could multi-task :rotfl: Very common with boys I'm told.

It'll all be right and the wee soul's happy. Rejoice in that :)

Afraid not :(, today was meant to be her last Thursday afternoon off, unless her employer gives her next Thursday afternoon off due to having to work today, which he may. :)

Oh he was fine, not even bothered about what happened, neither were the staff. It was Mrs. K. and I who were horrified (OK perhaps that word is a bit extreme). I couldn't apologise enough, in fact Mrs. K. told me to shut up.
