We are ringing three potential nurseries tomorrow. :)

Father's tests are for an ongoing condition and to determine if he has something else too. Not sure I wish to know the outcome of one to be honest. On the other note; yes, I did speak to them in regards of looking after their grandchild, they seemed quite enthusiastic about it but want us to get childcare in place firstly. Mother was a little annoyed that I am very reluctant in regards to son going to a place where everything is new.

As far as the £5 wine challenge goes, we have not even started yet! I've not had anything to drink since I surpassed even my expectations on Monday evening and we've currently got a fair amount of wine in the house, so £5 challenge starts when the current lot is gone. :)
...but he is nearly 3 and everything all throughout his life will be new to him, it's part of life :D . He'll be fine and he'll love it.

    Thank you.

With all this talk of Christmas, I am worried about a frugal Christmas, not between Mrs. K. and I but more about what other people will think.

ooops ....a bit of Old Alex cropping up there ;) In a few months time, what people think will not bother you so much. When you get to my age, you won't care at all.:rotfl:It's very liberating.

They won't 'think' anything....and if they do, they were not 'worthy ' of the gift.

Hope all goes well tomorrow, good that Mrs K is on board, as others have said, is she'll see you and in the position to notice the changes that you may not realise is happening, - think of it as a pre-warning (nicest ways).

Hope everything goes ok with your father tomorrow, and also your Doctors app, I dont see Mrs K letting them get away with it.

I wouldnt worry about what the doctor thinks - your 1st session is always the hardest, without sounding blunt, - ur not going to pour your heart and soul to a random person on the street, and same as for first appointments, it may take a couple of appointments before you feel comfortable to open up. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I'm in rural Derbyshire, very few people seem to charge £30+. However, most of the teachers seem to be doing it on a qualification of Gd. 8 piano (I was educated to Masters level in Music as well as having performance diplomas in both violin and piano, all a few years back now though) so, it's quite difficult to know what to charge in all honesty.

I know, costing up a service, especially a skilled one is very hard as you can't be too cheap (as people may think you are 'not as good') but neither be too expensive (as they may think you are brilliant as dearer but not book as unaffordable).

Best thing is to carry on as you are, build up a regular customer base and when you get too booked up, then raise the cost a bit.
The downside of selling a service is you are capped on the physical hours you can actually sell so the only way to 'up' it is to charge more per hour once demand exceeds the supply of teaching slots you have available.

I just hope life won't hurt him as it's hurt me. I know I've said this quite a lot but I am terrified that he may one day go through similar episodes as I have.

Yes, I am still concerned about others. It'd be wonderful to not worry about how others perceive me.

Thank you and no, Mrs. K. will probably not be able to keep herself quiet.

Thank you, those were my thoughts too. The average around here seems to be about £20 per hour but as I said, most seem not to be particularly well qualified.

Oh dear Alex, what does it matter??! Think about you and your family and your debt busting! Far more important. :)

I've seen this quote a few times on here -

We buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like.

Does that ring a bell perchance?!:p

    Anyway, good evening! :)

Just caught up with the last few days posts :) Glad things are on the up again! I know EVERYONE has said it, but £165 for a shirt and wallet :eek: Anyway, lets move on.......

My friend posted this article to FB recently, quite an interesting read

    http://www.waitbutwhy.com/2013/07/7-ways-to-be-insufferable-on-facebook.html

I wish my attention-seeking-buy-any-old-crap-that's-not-needed-and-then-bore-everyone-about-it-friend would read this. :rotfl:

I really hope you get to the stage where money saving gives you a bit of a buzz, maybe like buying posh pens might? I think I mentioned before that I fixed my energy tariff via uSwitch (not a total switch as I stayed with EDF) and today I got an email with a voucher on it for 6 bottles of wine...........for FREE (apart from £4.99 postage). It took less than 20 mins to sort, and bam, I've got 6 bottles of wine for Christmas pressies :D

I love a bargain, makes me feel great, and like I've got one over on a greedy company. I was in Tesc0 not long back and they'd got some Finest smoked bacon that was £3.15 a pack reduced to 35p!! I grabbed all 5 packs! What a feeling!!!! :rotfl::cool: I wouldn't have bought 5 packs, but at that price, I couldn't resist.

I work blimmin hard for my money so if I can keep as much as I can, then that's great. All my bills that I have to pay are as low as I can get them. Every penny is a prisoner :rotfl::p:D

I wish I had posh pens and £5K watches to sell. I don't really have anything of great value because gadgets and expensive shoes and bags and clothes are just not important to me. I do love a nice cruise though :rotfl:

I know you might not be feeling it, but you are in a really good position. You have options. You have stuff to sell. You have a family to love and support you. You have so much support on here. You have a talent for teaching music and earning money from it. You're not working 12 hours a day busting a gut in some dirty factory for minimum wage.

I think you need to be reminded of this sometimes. Some people on here aren't so lucky.

Well done on selling the pens, great stuff:T Get that car bonnet sold next and your F+F fund will be looking very healthy indeed.

Have a great weekend Mr and Mrs and Little K. Keep up the good work :)

Somebody else also posted that article, I enjoyed reading that just. :) I'm not much of a Facebook'er, usually updating my status perhaps once a month if that but I do go on there to look enviously at other peoples lives :o. Usually involves my old school friends, most of which I haven't seen for years.

Anyhow, I recognised PLENTY of statuses that fall into those categories, so did Mrs. K. :). We have all been guilty of a few though?

We made a list of how many of each thing I like is acceptable to have before selling the excess on and choosing another (not sure that makes sense): Mrs. K. reckons 3 watches, 3 pens etc.

We have also tried to cut spending on things like utilities and food. :) Not sure what you did with five packs of reduced bacon though??? As surely, it was going out of date?

Thank you for the encouragement and I think come the end of next week I could have some good news on the work front. :)

Got somebody to call re. the bonnet and a few other car bits.

    We will try! :)

I'm sure everyone is guilty of a bragging or ranting status :)

I'm not really sure what you mean. The selling then choosing another? Buying more or choosing to sell another existing pen etc?

How about rating your pens or watches in some sort of order? Like marks out of ten. Then sell the one with the lowest score, and then the next etc. You might decide to only keep 2 pens, cause the others didn't score 10 out of 10!

With regards to the bacon, I put it somewhere safe and somewhere that would prolong its life. Its called a freezer Alex. :rotfl::D I just get a pack out the freezer the night before I want it, then cook it and enjoy :)

Fingers crossed that the work stuff comes to fruition :)

    Night night :)

The C word .. When we were really needing to save our pennies, we bought token gifts for the children we buy for, and sent cards to the adults stating that we had made a donation to a charity instead of sending gifts that year, in our case " send a cow " which, being farmers ourselves, seemed appropriate. We asked that since we didnt need gifts ourselves, if they wanted to, they could support the charity too. I printed off the webpage and popped it in with the card.

Now ..the sneaky part is that they have no idea how much we sent. We did send a sum, but it was nothing like as much as we could have spent on the gifts. .. And the good thing is, your friends think you are being kind to people less fortunate.
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..

Good luck today Alex. Be honest with the doctor and try not to get defensive. The questions they ask are designed to ascertain your level of depression. You could always fill in the depression questionnaire on MoodGym before you go and take that with you. Listen to their suggestions and discuss your fears. Remember they are there to help you, but they can only help if you are willing to put in the work. xxx

Re the link: If you take those types of status update away from Facebook... what's left? If they really annoy the author that much, they need to ditch their account. Personally, I like hearing about my friends' achievements. I like being happy for them :)

Good luck at the doctor's today, Alex.
