snookey: Honestly not sure what they'd say now if they knew about the debts as before it was their money I had wasted. I have been in debt once before (it didn't get to this stage of becoming in arrears though) and during my stay in hospital, my parents bailed me out. However, they were not happy about it nor did they really talk to me about it.

LOL, when I am in a better state of mind, I can always come up with some kind of entertainment for my son, that I always enjoy too so I don't suppose I really grew up either. :)
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

Thats a shame Alex but at least people on here will listen and hopefully no judge.

Children love the simple things I think as we get older we think we have to like what other grownups do. Iv never really conformed which makes my 10 year old dd cringe.
Maybe Alex getting a bit of your childhood back through your child would be a good thing.

Not sure getting my childhood back would be helpful (it was full of throwing as much money as possible at the "problem"). However, making our son's as fun as it can be is a good mission for my wife and I to work towards. :)

I wish I could think of it as "just money". :rotfl:

Trying to look on the positive side, Mrs. K. and I have done a mid-monthly review on our finances and found we have done well with keeping the grocery shopping down. :) We have also been eating much better.

Tomorrow is Mrs. K.'s penultimate half-day Thursday thus we have just spent a little time working out what to do as a family tomorrow afternoon. :) So far it's a walk (one of son's new favourite things to do), picnic (sat in the back of the LR if it's raining, LOL) and a trip to the library.

LOVE this post, Alex!! Big, huge, MASSIVE hugs to you!!! Keep looking at the positive. It makes such a difference. :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

    Thank you everyone. :)

Been up for a while preparing things for later (yes, I would make somebody a good housewife ;);)), sun is out, still a bit off but much better than previous days.

Really hoping I can make a second go at this now, another effort needs to be made with awkward creditor and on my wife's orders I have to visit the doctor tomorrow, even more embarrassingly she wishes to come with me.

Just a quick log in to sat you can do all of this Alex......as the alternative is not fun and will make you even more depressed (with good reason).

Mrs K is really trying too (from what I read) and I wouldn't tell the parents about the CC debt. It's not their problem so why worry them?
    Congrats on the F+F fund.:)
