"The grounds"? I think that makes you Hyacinth Bucket

Here's my answers:
1) Usually "Hm, sorry?" here, with the occasional "What?" with people I know well. So probably an average of upper-middle.
2) Loo. Always the loo. So upper-middle or upper.
3) Napkin. Serviette is such an odd word! So, upper-middle.
4) Dinner. Apparently tea is a colloquialism for my area
but to me it's always been something you drink. Middle-middle then.
5) Sofa. Mum calls it the settee, but I think sofa sounds like a comfortable word. Upper-middle again.
6) It's always been the "front room" to me, but again I think that's a local thing. So no idea
7) Pud! So technically, pudding
Upper-middle.
Posh: I generally use this in a jokey fashion. It's such a daft word!
Mum and Dad: Yep, Mum is Mum and Dad was Dad. Grown-ups who still say Mummy and Daddy are just creepy, and (sorry Alex!) Mother and Father is soooo pretentious!
Perfume: I actually call it "niff", something I picked up from a friend years ago
Party: A party is a party. Why would you call it anything else?
Helpings: We have helpings, not portions, although I do "portion off" things to freeze.
Patio: We have neither, just a nice garden
My car got ridiculed (Corsa) but thankfully I couldn't care
and mine and OH's family have a menagerie of pets!

Our "grounds" are not really nice enough to be a "garden", in my opinion. Well, that's my excuse. :rotfl:

"Tea" (meaning Dinner), is a bit of a Derbyshire thing also and plenty of people say "front room" here too; I've always wondered what happens if your sitting room is at the back of the house but know it comes from Victorian two up- two down terraces. So, sorry, HBS "front room" is most certainly a lower thing.
I was never allowed to call my parents Mum, Dad, Mummy, Daddy or anything other than Mother and Father. Mrs. K. thought it also pretentious when she first met me.2018 totals:

I think I use both sofa and settee - also living room and sitting room. I also interchange lunch/dinner and dinner/supper. So obviously have no idea 'what' I am!
Tea for me is teatime with cake.
Cannot imagine a little ball yelling out 'Mother' in the middle of the might.
Gosh when kids were small it was always -'Mammy....' Now they have grown up to Mum. Though I could never call my own mum that and it went from Mammy to Gran!Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
My next door neighbour speaks about her "grounds" .. her GARDEN is less than a half acre, but she is a posh type ! lol
Dinner is eaten at tea-time, We sit on the sofa in the sitting room eating our pudding in front of the telly sometimes !
Im not posh, Im just me , I dont need a label !Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -
Huh, according to that I'm a lot posher than I reckon I actually am :rotfl:
It could be worse, Alex, you might have had to call them Mater and Pater

Roland: You're just confused.
My parents weren't the "hands on" type at the best of times, I can never remember being allowed in their bedroom and learnt rather quickly that having a nightmare etc. was no reason to call out in the middle of the night. I'm not sure there was any acceptable reason to call out in the middle of the night come to think of it, unless perhaps a burglar had climbed through my bedroom window or something equally as absurd. Sometimes, I do wonder if they had the right idea for past the infant stage, they always got a good nights sleep.2018 totals:

Pudding in front of the "telly"? I'm horrified.

I cannot say I've come across that many people saying many of the words they deemed as being "lower". Mind, this is the Daily Fail.
Worse still, there was a boy at school who referred to his parents as "Mama" and "Papa" but wasn't of any kind of continental descent, how we laughed!2018 totals:

Wednesday 23rd April, 2014.
Dear Diary,
After hardly any sleep last night, I met my new class for the first time today who seem more like hard work than the last lot. No curiously interested questions either about music or me but an awful lot of sarcastic back chat and name calling. Sarcastic back chat, they were surprised to find, is something of a speciality of mine. Seriously, though, I was rather disappointed to find them so testing, here's to hoping they calm down within the coming weeks.
No particularly exciting activities to report today apart from a walk in the damp, dark evening as requested by son in the hope we may "see a bat". How could I possibly refuse ...? :rotfl: Anyhow, he came back disappointed that we saw no bats, sure Mrs. K. will be pleased to know he's more disappointed there were no bats out tonight than the fact she's away.
On the money front, I have managed to be careful and not had any cafe lunches so far this week. Unfortunately, I seem to be struggling to put consistent time and effort into the business that it needs to move forwards and start becoming more profitable. I know I physically have the time. However, my awful sleep patterns make working so much more difficult, something I am aware needs to be sorted out if I am to stay debt free after completing this effort.
Summary:
+£60.00 Music Teaching.
-£3.00 Bakery.
Yours Faithfully,

Hey - love the idea of you giving those kids as much backchat as they have given you - way to go!!
Shame you never saw a bat - funnily enough that was the first thing I saw when putting the cat out - we have loads round here.
Re work etc - why not set yourself say 3 hours in the morning to just get down to things - then forget about it.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Roland: I can't say I particularly like insolence at the best of times but certainly not when I was trying to function on about 3 hours sleep - couldn't really help myself. Mind, I reckon they got a bit of a shock.
No we didn't see one but I imagine he would like to go "bat hunting" again.
Not having a good day at all and wish I could just get on with work for a set amount of hours per day. Unfortunately, I find that seems to just put me under an immense amount of stress.2018 totals:
