You are a strong person, you have a lovely son, - you are worth a lot more than you think.
If Mrs k wants to go it alone, there going to be no stopping her, but that doesn't stop you, your a father, a son, a friend, a relative, a lot of things, strong, caring......

Thank you.heartbreak_star wrote: »I also think it's a waste of money sending Little K. to private school, but we've been over that before many times
I've held my tongue (keyboard?
) until now as I would have just had a huge rant about Mrs K.
She IS being a spoilt brat. Has she thought about what should happen if she should lose this much-vaunted job of hers?
No.
You have thought about the future - not just the present - and therein lies the difference.
Personally, I think she'll realise damn quick what she's lost if she goes. I think you'd actually do OK despite how you feel...because you do know how to be strong deep down.
Good luck, however things turn out. We're here for you

Indeed we have and I have made my mind up, albeit with a little more consideration to the "other option" than I ever had before.
My wife has always been one to "live for the moment" and not worry about any consequences. I cannot complain as I was exactly the same before realising the mess I've made. Call it a light bulb moment, I reckon I've finally found one.Not much to add Alex but keep strong.

^^this!
You've discovered so much about yourself, good & bad, but you've embraced them all! You've become stronger than you realise.
I'm  gobsmacked that she said that! Especially when she is aware of how you feel at the moment. It's not a nice trait to kick people when they're down. ((Hugs))
I always was good at learning new things.
Trying to put the new money saving ways into practice more often than anybody else would likely realise, in an attempt to stop believing on one level or another that it grows on trees.
Thanks, things are difficult at the moment.Alex, you deserve better. This woman is adding to your problems, not helping you like a loving wife would do. What an awful situation . Big hugs
Mara: Thank you, not sure about deserving better but thanks for the sentiment.theoretica wrote: »I have quite some sympathy for Mrs K here. You have said you are reluctant for your parents to pay, you yourself are not earning enough to make a major contribution to the cost and Mrs K probably feels you want to spend a large chunk of her earnings on something she doesn't value. Furthermore, by your insistance you are casting nasturtiums, justified or not, at her own education.
On a more positive note, one of the most significant contributions to a child's attainment is parents who are involved and value education. Little K already has that in you.
I am insisting my son receives the best future possible and fail to see the problem with this? Having thought about this long and hard, I do not think I should put this burden onto my parents (paying for their grandson's education) as it is my responsibility, not theirs.
As for Mrs. K.'s education, from what she tells me it was rather substandard (got her where she wanted to go but still substandard).2018 totals:

Dear Diary,
Sorry this is both incoherent and short.
I would rather not elaborate on what has been an awful day and evening for me. However, I do have some good financial news to share, finally I hear you all sigh!
As of seven days time my debt to the business for work on the house will be paid and I can begin making some headway on the other debts once again. I also have some ideas for the business that I need to investigate further.

Thank you, not sure how long it will be before I explore the ideas but I am starting to write them down, at least that way I will not forget.
This evening has so far been difficult so only just managed to get the first item listed.

Dear Diary,
It was not that long ago I thought I knew what the future held: I was going to clear these debts, make a dent in the mortgage, have some fun along the way and finally get into the BTL game. Now, it simply seems I am fighting an impossible battle, one which I will ultimately lose but cannot afford to.
Money has made me miserable for many years, even when I perhaps didn't realise it. Back in the days when I couldn't imagine the stream of readily available cash running out I was guilty of thinking those pieces of dirty paper could win friends and influence people. Instead it did neither, merely alienating me from my peers. These days I am irrationally jumpy when the phone rings lest somebody on the other line is demanding I pay them an amount I do not have and stand in apprehensive dread each and every time I put my debit card into one of those small, gray square boxes in a shop. Sadly, I am not sure this will ever go away, despite the fact I am doing something to alleviate the cause.

:rotfl: Thank you, that made me smile despite having a rather horrible day. However, why the teacher was using a red felt tip item in the photograph and not a pen is beyond me.
Anyhow, I use two pens for marking theory papers: one with green ink for correct answers and one with red ink for incorrect answers. If aspects are incorrect, it is still marked in red ink. Nothing less than a distinction gets a green total and gold star. Essay type work I sometimes set about composers are commented upon in black ink on a separate piece of paper using a form I devised on Word (got to get the technology in somewhere
) and corrections made in red ink on their work. Yes, I have far too much time on my hands of an evening.
If pupils want to talk about the work, they have the opportunity at the beginning of the next lesson.2018 totals:
