  • And you and ebay were a match made in heaven
  • Alex (((hugs))) it sounds like you've had a really tough day. It's horrible but it's not your fault and it will get better again. Mrs K may have had to take a day off but she cares enough to do so, she loves you even when things are tough.

I do think clearing the debts will help because feeling in control of your finances will remove one source of stress not because a 'good life' lifestyle is the cure to eternal bliss ;)

Anyway, you sound like you could be with a smile so here's the story of how one of Mr F's classic cars lost a fight.

Several, possibly many, years ago we owned an MG Midget. It was british racing green, with chrome bumpers, black number plates and 6 months older than Mr F. It was his pride and joy and he loved driving it around the Welsh back roads :).
One day he was driving up in the hills, heading for a particularly scenic dam (yup, this was Wales, even industrial hubs were scenic).
Approaching in the opposite lane was a farmer in a beaten up Land Rover Defender so Mr F moved over a little. At this point a particularly fine looking pheasant flew out of the bushes. He took one look at the Defender and high tailed it across to the other lane.
Mr F slammed on the brakes and screeched to a halt (not easy to do in a Midget, as I'm sure you're aware). There was no crunching sound, no feathers flying, his heart began to beat a little slower. Then an avian head appeared above the bonnet. It rotated and the pheasant looken up the line of the bonet at Mr F with its steely glare. It drew itself up to its full height then bobbed sharply, there was a lound clunk and it ran off into the bushes.
Yes, it had pecked the bumper. It left a dent in the middle of that shiny chrome that was there until we sold the car. Mr F was dischuffed to say the least and the Land Rover driver couldn't stop lauging :D.
So there you go Alex. Life is tough but at least you haven't lost a fight with a pheasant.... but careful where you drive in Wales ;)

I lurk and read these days on this thread as so many times I have to 'bite the keyboard'. However, in terms of clarity post 3109 is the best I have read from you in a long time.

Bess: Something like that. ;) As for me and eBay, I've managed to list a few items today. Visiting the doctors on Monday and hoping for something of a miracle this time around, failing that a brain transplant will do.

FlacosFloozie: Yesterday was particularly difficult, one of the worst I can recall in a very long time. For all our ups and downs, I am very fortunate to have my wife.

I too think clearing my debts will help matters. However, I'm beginning to realise sorting my finances out is not a cure.

Thank you for raising a smile or two. :) Are both you and your husband into classics?

Igamogam: I wondered where you had gone. However, thank you. :)

    Saturday 1st February, 2014.

    Dear Diary,

Half past eight on a Saturday evening and here I am, sat in with a cup of tea with my wife who is currently watching a terrible film. Well, you can see what time it was when I started writing this! To think a decade ago I was the life and soul of the party and yet, here I am now sat at home on a Saturday evening.

Today has been a little better than yesterday, yet still very difficult. Some issues I thought I had put behind me have been brought to the forefront of my mind and yet I've no idea why. However, instead of becoming consumed by my own self pity I have listed a few things on eBay and managed to get out of the house which is somewhat a miracle in itself when I'm like this.

Onwards and upwards, tomorrow is another day. :)

    Summary:
    -£37.00 Groceries.
    -£12.00 Butchers.
    -£2.40 Bakery.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Alex.

Sounds lovely. :) Mind, I had beef today (no surprises there) and can't say I was quite so enthralled. ;)

    Sunday 2nd February, 2014.

    Dear Diary,

This is admittedly going to be a rather short entry tonight as I've had quite a quiet day and nothing has really happened, thank goodness. However, we have managed our first NSD of February and Mrs. K. will be taking lunch to work tomorrow (something she's not bothered with for a while now), so some progress made on the money front even if we have not directly earned anything extra.

I am well aware I have got this diary to thank for reigning us in a little as of late. Unfortunately, I made few posts when I was really struggling last month and instead I spent money that I didn't have, yet again.

    One step forwards, two back.

    Summary:
    NSD.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Alex.

Hang on in there Alex, one step forward and two back is a whole lot better than nil steps forward and two back. Take care.:)
