So block them, if they search for you, they wont find you, and will just think youve left FB.
I think its something we all need to do periodically. Clear out the toxic friends.

Def agree, I cleared mine out as there was people been to school with never seen them in 25 years, so why as soon as my name became public, I cleared out friends, ex-family, (blocked a few people) now have 25 people on friends, - know them and never heard a peep out of everyone blocked x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Thank you, I think I shall just do that. :)

I will cut mine down. Embarrassingly, I have to admit to being rather jealous of most of my old class mates. :o

The Elf has been busy putting up Christmas decorations this evening!

    Wow to the decs xx

Suppose I've been rather nosey, wondering what people are up to on facebook. Most of my old school friends have done very well for themselves whereas I've become the "poor" one.

Thank you, re. decorations not all are up but some, son will like waking up to them I think. :) Annoyingly, no presents have been bought yet. :rotfl:

Alex - I would say keeping tabs on old school 'pals' smacks of having too much time to waste.

There you go again saying you are the 'poor' one.

By what scale? Some might be lonely - have unhappy marriages, be infertile and envy you having a son and family - some might have terminal illness and be dead by next year. So who is to say who is the rich one.

Just STOP - and concentrate on what you have in front of you - and giveFacebook a rest.

When we all left school no-one did a reunion till I and a friend organised one after having left 33 years pass.

Believe me we were all older and wiser. No one was saying what they did as a living or how much they earned - because by that time we had realised that in the big scheme of things it did not matter than one lived in a large house with a moat, one was wealthy and abroad while others were working on local farms - they each their place in the scheme of things and we all got on much better than during our school days.

We said then that its a good job we hadn't had a reunion when in our 20s as then it would have bee more about who was doing what, what uni they had gone to etc.

Guilty as charged on some days. :o

Well, I meant in the literal, monetary sense of "poor". However, I see your point, I have a lot of positives in my life even though there are times I don't see them.

I've decided I'm having next week off facebook and reviewing my "friends list" the week after. :)

Mine has a society for all former members of the school, holding various functions throughout the year. Though I have very fond memories of school, I do not wish to be any longer involved.

Im glad I dont have an elf to nag me .. My decorations arent going up for at least two weeks.

Our school reunion at 40 was just like being back in the playground, same cliques, same !!!!!ing behind hands, same flirtations. I was still the short plump quiet one, albeit with one of the better careers ... The guy who bullied me at school tho, was one of the nicer people there. A guy whom I was friends with, is now a best selling author, has turned into a boring snob.

Na .. Sometimes school memories are best left as memories.
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..

The thing with Facebook is that most people (except for the drama queens) only ever post good things on there so as far as I am concerned it is full of very smug people bragging. The reality of it is they are probably miserable and keeping up appearances.....
