Our school re union was even younger. It was all about who was the prettiest ! :rotfl::rotfl:Aren't human beings funny when you get older and wiser. I hope to continue getting wiser as I get older

:rotfl: Me too, I was always keen to learn new things. :)

Im glad I dont have an elf to nag me .. My decorations arent going up for at least two weeks.

Our school reunion at 40 was just like being back in the playground, same cliques, same !!!!!ing behind hands, same flirtations. I was still the short plump quiet one, albeit with one of the better careers ... The guy who bullied me at school tho, was one of the nicer people there. A guy whom I was friends with, is now a best selling author, has turned into a boring snob.

Na .. Sometimes school memories are best left as memories.

He loves the Christmas decorations, though I wonder if we made a mistake buying glass icicle lights. Told him to look but do not touch and hope that will be enough.

You quiet? Not sure I can believe that one, Mara. ;)

The thing with Facebook is that most people (except for the drama queens) only ever post good things on there so as far as I am concerned it is full of very smug people bragging. The reality of it is they are probably miserable and keeping up appearances.....

I can believe that, especially in the cases of a few people I know. Almost everybody from my past are the "keeping up appearances" sort. In many ways I wish I'd made more effort to get to know a wider range of people when I was younger. Odd to say the only person in my social circle who seemed polar opposite to me in terms of background I ended up married to. :rotfl:

"Just had a lovely surprise weekend in London, my boyfriend is amazing". Yup, I'm pretty amazed he's not found out about the other 2 guys you've been seeing. Oh, and wasn't the weekend to make up for the fact he forgot your birthday? Just saying ;).

So, next time you read about someone's perfect life, take it with a big pinch of salt :D.

Just popping by.......

Try this Mantra for size.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Alternatively:

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I cannot accept,
And the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people
I had to kill today because they p****d me off.

Or maybe more relevant to Alex ;):

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things that I can,
And the kind of money where I don't really care either way.

Indeed, she must have a life even more boring (and with more time to waste) than I. ;)

This is rather powerful and very relevant to me, thank you. :)

Debt-free and Proud!
Sunday 1st December, 2013.
Day 92.

Dear Diary,

As you all know Sunday is a family day in my household and we visit my parents' for lunch. Well, we ended up there for dinner as well today and my father seems to have this special ability to get me completely and utterly wasted, I'm not even safe having a coffee for goodness sake. Despite being rather piddled, I did manage to get my items on eBay, though scheduled for tomorrow. That way at least I can correct the inevitable errors tomorrow morning.

Now, we must come up with something for the Christmas Elf to do for tomorrow.

Summary:
Honestly I can't even remember what I spent; it wasn't much, under £30.00. :o

Yours Faithfully,
Alex.
