Saw your thread earlier on - sorry, but I was doubled up with laughter! You did well. As said before, you cut round the stalky bit at the top, pull, cut into 4, remove remaining seeds and pith and you don't use gravy granules!!!
Good on you for trying and good to see you posting here. Us OS'rs (and Grannies!) will keep you right - your Mum will never know! You can cook her a really cordon bleu meal next time you see her thanks to us!
Perhaps if you can run to it - slow cooker? Loads of things you can set up and leave all day to just cook away and delicious.
You are younger than my DS and he certainly couldn't do more than beans on toast at your age (he moved to be with his partner (Ireland) two years ago and a changed chappie!
Take care and keep up the good work.
Love GB x
Thanks grannybroon. And call me SS. Everyone else does and it saves your fingers.
I hope you were laughing with me and not at me?0 -

No sweatheart would never laugh at you, just your description of what you had done. At least you had the good sense to try your best and seek out advice which was duly given. Better to cook than live off rubbish stuff like ready meals and take-aways. We all have an odd time when we do the rubbish or takeaway but no-one ever criticises! By the way, sorry to hear you recently single. Hope you are OK.
Just come on here anytime and we will help. We really don't laugh at folk unless they expect us too and crack a joke in their posts (expecting same back!). We are here to help and give advice, love and hugs.
I have my very senior moments (imminent to be GB to 3) and when I have the current two to stay I am totally wiped out for 2 days. DH says I have the memory of a chicken!
Take care

I don't mind people laughing at me. I like making people laugh! :j
Oh and I'm not recently single but thats no excuse for you to start flirting with me already!:rotfl:
I will definately be back! I want to add a new dish to my reportoire (sp)! I'm just not sure what yet!0 -
SS - Bless you you sound so nice! Sorry I must have got it wrong re your status! We won't fall out will we?
Have you done Spag, No? Just the same as lasagne but with the worms rather than the lasagne sheets. We like a dash of mushrooms in it too and sometimes a dash of red wine! (Actually fine (the wine) with anything just about you cook if you can spare it!)
I do a few curries but must admit to using Patak's paste. Just follow the instructions! Buy chicken, lamb, or turkey (as very cheap!), the spoonfuls of sauce, some onion and peppers and I always add a bit of extra crushed garlic. Serve with rice and Bob's your Uncle! Keep in touch with us!
Love GB
PS I am 55 and will flirt with anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
grannybroon wrote: »Dlb - just read your other post. What is more important is DS2's feelings in this. I can't remember how old he is but I do remember he is old enough to take on board what you did tell him so is old enough to express his feelings. You know what I had to do years ago - not easy but I had to take the best decision for a very special person and not myself - step back! I think your sister may have to do the same, best interests of the child etc.
Take care - you are a fantastic family and you do so well.
Surrogate GB! xxx
Hi dlb , just want to echo what GB has said, hope things work out well for you and your DS xxxx
kyle - glad your little man is ok xxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
SS - soz ddint read your thread u started lol, by the sounds of it, u had quite an experience:rotfl: almost as bad when twink ate a raw chilli pepper! lets just say gallstones and eating chillis NOT advised:rotfl:
grannybroon - dh works shifts in a distillery and there are only 2 shift patterns on at mo, nightshift and 6-2, so would be quite difficult getting someone to cover, he got last night off at a stretch basically, just as well he did, will manage just be difficult though, have twink on hand if i need help, really helps that she lives 3 doors down from me:D
Anyone heard from frugal yet?

What I meant was I split with the ex a while back!Sorting my debt out before the love life!
Mushrooms! I knew I forgot something!
I may sound nice but I'm not really! :shhh:
Ask anyone!
I tell you what I do fancy giving a go! Chicken, wrapped in bacon and cheese (non granules :rotfl: ) with BBQ sauce. But I'll start a new thread when I'm ready to tackle that coz I don't want everyone getting annoyed with me keep posting here!0 -
Hi SS
Got a really nice recipe for chicken legs (dirt cheap in Asda!). Buy your chicken legs (with skin), poke some blue cheese down around the skin, brush with oil, sprinkle with garlic salt and a hot oven (about 200) for an hour but turn and baste in between. Cover with foil from beginning by the way. Another way is same, but sprinkle with Thai 7 Spice. A bit of a bite.
I am sure you are nice - that's the way you come over!
Take care and we are here for you honest!

Kyle - of course you are at the end of the distillery trail - we have done it but not sampled it I hasten to add.
Love and hugs - is you Mum OK? She hasn't posted so prob feeling totally awful about what has happened as you all are. Take care.

SS - glad you are sorting the debt out. Just checked and it is quite big but you have reduced hugely. Keep up the good work. I am glad to say we only have one year on mortgage to go but we have been there and we are dinosaurs!
Thankfully we were able to help out our 2 kids with deposits for homes - so think we have done our bit there plus paid for one wedding. However, would never see them going short - but only if unexpected - not a large CC bill etc.
I like you! Even if you reckon you are a wee bit naughty!
Take care.
