Happy birthday amie:j :j :j hope u are enjoying your day
Got my wee man home just before lunchtime, the nurse put his arm in a sling and got painkillers home with him, he was very miserable in hospital, soon as we mentioned we were going home he soon perked up:D it is so noisy in that ward, he eventually fell asleep after being awake since 4 and was wakened with a jolt by the firm alarm going off, they were testing it! what a racket.
So he is home to peace and quiet, had a big sleep in the afternoon and was so happy to see his brothers again:D back to theatre in 4 weeks time, he has appointment on the 21st at the fracture clinic.
Going to be hard because dh is on nights and he is getting grumpy already due to lack of sleep, wont get much sleep tomorrow either as the school want him there with ds1 when they do a sponsered walk up the speyside way! i was planning to go but cant see how i can take lo with me.
Camping trip cancelled for the near future, least we have florida to look forward to in october:T
I am so relieved everything went well in theatre, think i am feeling it more today now he is home, did weekly shop today with twink then went to kids open day to see their work.
They have butterflies in the classroom, not flying about freely though before anyone says, they were doing a theme for the term looking at the different stages, they got caterpillars sent to them through the post, they are releasing the butterflies tomorrow just before their walk.
Sorry havent read thread properly, will later

Dlb - just read your other post. What is more important is DS2's feelings in this. I can't remember how old he is but I do remember he is old enough to take on board what you did tell him so is old enough to express his feelings. You know what I had to do years ago - not easy but I had to take the best decision for a very special person and not myself - step back! I think your sister may have to do the same, best interests of the child etc.
Take care - you are a fantastic family and you do so well.

Thanks GB for that, he will be 10 on saturday which is another reason i was holding off talking to her.
But it is for the best just hope she sees that too.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Kyle - I think the big come down for you is once real huge initial worry is over and you get them home. Probably tonight might not be very good now he is home but I do hope things improve. So glad he seems to be reasonably OK. Surely school will understand about DH if he doesn't go tomorrow. Mind you, I expect DH would then think he is letting DS1 down! I have a feeling next 4 weeks will be long ones - with good times and not so good. Thinking about you all.

not been too good a day for megot 2 knock backs from jobs that I interviewed for and one of them upset me a bit. I rented a car, paid for fuel, drove for 6 hours ( In total ) to attend an interview last Friday. The guy sat there and picked at my CV and said I had too many jobs in the past ( 10 jobs since 16 and Im 39 now ) only 2 of the companies that I worked for in the past are still in operation - hardly my fault
but he didnt see it that way  feel like sending him a bill for my time and expenses. The other one I got knocked back for was due to not having enough experience. So am feeling a bit rejected right now. Not got any more interviews till next week and am still waiting to hear back from one but dont think that one is going to be good news as it has been a while now.
So I have made some shortbread and stuffed my face with it:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
dlb - just saw your post, difficult situation really but ds2 will always come first, cant offer much advice but do what u feel will be best, hugs
grannybroon - i wish that dh didnt have go with ds1 tomorrow but because ds1 has had a few hypos in past on that walk, the teacher feels unable to cope and needs one of us to be there, difficult as ds1 wanted to go by himself, we didnt put him to last years one as this walk basically using up all his reserves and is left with big hypos for weeks after, need to think about it tonight.

I made lasagne today. With a twist! I put peppers in it. Although it was quite traumatic.
I'm not even sure this is meant to be in this thread or if anyone cares but just want to say thanks for everyones help!0 -
Kyle - sorry I thought DH going just as parent helper. Must of missed that DS1 had had a bit of a problem with his insulin the last time. Have things more or less stabilised now? The one fear my DD has is that one of the boys develops diabetes - it runs in SIL's family. Don't know what your DH's employment is, but is there any way employer could give either compassionate leave or change his shift for a couple of days?
Anyway sweatheart, be glad your wee darling is home in your safe care and try not to dwell on things - easier said than done I know from bitter experience!
Love and hugs

Evening all xxxx
Second day of my new job, and settling in now, not as daunting as I thought it would be, getting the hang of it quite quickly, so think I'm gonna fit in really well.
Not used to working such long hours though lol Im used to working 16hours as I only work part time, but my old job was spaced out over the week. Where as this job is 16hrs over 2 days, so its 2 days of 9am - 5pm, im used to doing a few hours here and there, so im not used to getting up so early and have to work solid for 8 hrs lol
Luckily got a day off tomorrow, off to Plymouth for the day with the kids, as I have tickets to see the Wiggles live stage show, I'm more excited then the kids I think :rotfl: Will get a bit of shopping in too, hunt out some bargains :j
5th day of no smoking, think im gonna treat myself to sumthing tomorrow, as a reward
Right best get on, "how to look good naked" is on, love this prog, so cant miss it lol
Bye for now

Hi SouthernS
Saw your thread earlier on - sorry, but I was doubled up with laughter! You did well. As said before, you cut round the stalky bit at the top, pull, cut into 4, remove remaining seeds and pith and you don't use gravy granules!!!
Good on you for trying and good to see you posting here. Us OS'rs (and Grannies!) will keep you right - your Mum will never know! You can cook her a really cordon bleu meal next time you see her thanks to us!
Perhaps if you can run to it - slow cooker? Loads of things you can set up and leave all day to just cook away and delicious.
You are younger than my DS and he certainly couldn't do more than beans on toast at your age (he moved to be with his partner (Ireland) two years ago and a changed chappie!
Take care and keep up the good work.
Love GB x0
