Major client and good friend died yesterday. Unexpectedly. Puts a lot into perspective.
Once again I'm thinking I want more of life and less work in this little office with a computer and not much else.
Take care.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sorry to hear your news, it must have been a very nasty shock.
When you get news like that, it does make you reflect on your own life. We just never know what's around the cornerEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Thanks Tilly, Goldiegirl and KC.
Waiting for saddler to come with a different saddle. Handsome baby hates the one she left before Christmas and can only spin around in it and refuse to go forwards unless led. Feeling a bit down and hoping handsome baby actually goes properly this time so we can at least get back to a little riding.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Saddler was a no show but turned up this morning and said that Handsome Baby was not fit enough for saddle and still has physio issues so now starts on a lunging regime for 4 more weeks.
Declutter a couple of items from bathroom and another hot water bottle that was found to be leaking 49/365.
I thought decluttering would reveal stuff that could be ebayed but so far seemed to have just found junkMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

A book added to the charity bag 50/365 and a lever arch file full of work stuff binned 51/365.
Another rotten cold but mustered self to go and do sales call for work. Snowing en route but not laying thankfully. £4.95 spent at lovely farm shop caf! for lunch. Made day seem worthwhile!
Flat as start of financial independence plan has fallen through. Someone offered £10,000 more than me and that would be a substantial over bid given asking price was only £72,000. Hey ho. back to drawing board.
Mr Watty did first day of Handsome Baby's lunging programme as I wouldn't get to it on account of day out of office. Mr Watty reports Handsome Baby wants his mumMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Thanks KC.
No connection with cold but researching will provision. I do have a will written about 20 years ago but I am thinking that I would prefer to make sensible provision for the horses and dogs in my care. Researching away with a view to updating will. Sorry to hear you've got a cold, there's a lot of it around
They say that you should review you will every so often, to reflect what's happening in your life, so you are definitely being sensible ! Hoorah for MFW, I'm sure we're all in a better place with our planning due to this board:TEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Research completed. Now have to submit details to chosen charity to ensure they will take on the horses. As neither Mr Watty or I have any children I feel much quite settled about leaving a legacy to two charities, one for dogs and one for equines, both of which will take on any horses or dogs we may leave behind us and ensure they are appropriately cared for.
Just need to decide rest of details now.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
