Bank statement checked. I am a MFW failure
as found I had gone overdrawn last month - £6 fee and 61p charges and am also scheduled to go overdrawn again today - another £6 fee. Seems a bit steep as I have an agreed overdraft on the account but well tis own fault.
Transferred £600 from ISA to current account to get me straight for this month. Am seriously rethinking holding emergency savings fund since bank have now halved interest to a pathetic 0.5%.
As I get straighter this month will review, especially as am thinking of using this as the deposit for a BTL (research on that halted in work nightmare).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Thanks for the tip Ed. What do you mean 'poorest performing ones'? I know the living room ones we have put in take for ever to actually warm up enough to produce light
Sorry, very late reply. Poorest performing ones = the ones we've bought that have already died despite having a claimed life of 10+ years! :rotfl:
If you have lights that are warming up, they're probably not LEDs, they come on instantly.Am seriously rethinking holding emergency savings fund since bank have now halved interest to a pathetic 0.5%.
Can't you just get a better current accounts? You and Mr W could get £6k in TSB accounts at 5% gross between you.0 -
Hi Watty.
I think things can get a bit overwhelming sometimes, bit as you say, you just dust yourself off, and get back on track, one thing at a time.
Ed, mentioned the TSB current accounts - we've opened one each this afternoon - they don't need any direct debits, so they are a good choice for a fairly simple account at a good interest rate.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Great tip re TSB. Have just opened one account. Will start slowly
Had a chat with Mr Watty as reviewed the joint account which was nearly £900 overdrawn  It seems he didn't think to budget when fixing the cars and re-doing the drains and I never thought to check the account either.
We have calmly decided that just having a joint account does not work as he doesn't budget and doesn't understand why I don't just let him have access to my cash  Bless him
We already have a joint account for bills and are now planning another account for savings for 'house projects' which will leave the joint account for food, petrol, travel. Seems neater all round.
Mr Watty likes this because he says then whenever a job needs doing he can see what cash there is to do it
Need to look round to see what account to use. All tips welcome!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Cheers Ed! They are low energy bulbs. The expend little energy but we spend lots walking paper from one room to a room with a better lightMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

And so easy to open! Just done on line! Might use this account for the house project account. Next project is to repair the sitting room window and install CCTV on yard.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Handsome baby has been clipped costing me £20 (should have been £15 but I didn't have the right cash and honestly she deserved the extra £5)
Or Most Handsome has escaped a near death experience after being harassed by woman waving electrical instruments of torture. Depending on who is telling story.

Fingers crossed for the vet too! Sounds like he's not quite happy, saddle perhaps if he doesn't like you getting on.
I'm also hoping to get mine clipped soon.Mortgage Apr 18 £417,894 BTL Mar 18 £162,857
Mortgage now -- £350,085 BTL now --- £162,6680 -
Vet came and went. Inconclusive as he couldn't find an area of pain or see anything wrong optic never. But vet did agree Most Handsome very hypersensitive. Most handsome was most laidback whilst vet was here but did display extreme tenseness and jumpiness during examination but for no real reason. Vet could see that it would be an issue if that happened whilst riding.
So, we are trying painkillers to see if that sorts out issue. If it does it will confirm pain.
Financial news: Sorted company's books for year end (last July) and own figures for tax return and rang accountant to get appointment to drop them off. Accountant picking up today. So that's another bit of financial organisation back on track.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
