Where did this rain come from?
And how did it get to 10.30 without me actually starting work?
Was hoping to go out for a hack later and to keep an eye out for pine cone stashes after reading Squirrel's suggestion of using them as firelighters.
Right off to start work now ....

Yes, it was lashing it down earlier!

It's brightened up now, so you might get a hack after all

But I understand that Friday will be wet, and then over the weekend we are going to get ex-hurricane Bertha!

Well thanks for that cheery news Goldiegirl. Was wondering about taking Handsome Baby out to a local show, but, in the light of your weather report I think I will give that a miss.

Did indeed get out and felt really brave as a local farmer was burning stuff and we went through the smoke, bravely led by neighbours lovely horse - but - couldn't see a blooming thing and baby was beautifully behaved.

Lovely day here. I actually enjoyed a working day as finally the backlog of work has been cleared and I have managed to combine a nice sit in the garden for 20 mins, a full days work and got 3 lots of washing done. And don't feel frayed for once :)

Expensive few days. Mr Watty's car repairs came in at under £1000 but only just
And boiler/hot water system etc needed further work - £450

I then spent £1.25 on a cup of tea in village tea shop and bought a history of the village in the first world war which has just been published £11.95

Seemed pointless to worry about saving at that point :)

Back on track, took dog to agility class today and got asked to help out by trainer so no cost, plus, as I spent the class teaching just one dog and owner who was new, got given a ticket to a charity fundraising dinner next week as a thank you. Felt a bit of a fraud as I have no real experience training, but have known the chap who takes the class for a few years but everyone seemed happy with the arrangement and I've a nice night out to look forward to.

Then this afternoon picked a bucket full of plums from Mr Watty dad's garden and two vases of roses. House now full of flowers at no cost as sweet peas have flowered beautifully - well - flowered anyway as stems are about 2 inches long. A sort of midget sweet pea :) They look and smell nice in vases (well jam jars!) Will spend tomorrow afternoon doing 'something' with plums.

Dinner not till next Saturday so that's to look forward too. Bonus night out last night as neighbour had 2 tickets for local cinema's live streaming of La Traviata from Glyndebourne that she didn't want so she gave them to us. I never watch opera on TV so wasn't sure about it - but - fabulous. Will buy neighbour some flowers as a thank you as don't think the midget stalk sweet peas are quite suitable :)

I am. Thank you for saying so. :) But I'm also giving myself some credit, as early on in this diary which was not so very long ago I was having meltdowns and tears and really not coping. And now here I am loving my ponies and enjoying riding :)

Was very excited as last night as bought a lot of polyjumps and arranged to pick up this afternoon. £600 - but - a lot of jumps for that so well pleased. Then today woman texts to say she has sold them for £650. Fed up! Why can't people be clear? Had just arranged for van and driver to collect.

Then this morning IT system collapsed and 3 hours on phone to call support centre to re-instate accounts software. Argh.

Late lunch and let dog into garden only to have him pounce on a cat. Yelling dementedly I managed to separate cat/dog and cat runs off. Dog stinks of cat poo/pee. And cat refused to leave strawberry patch. The cat belongs to next door - they of Laurel Hedges - so - have to go and tell Mr Laurel Hedge that my dog has attacked his cat and ask him to come and collect traumatised cat and take home to recover. Not easy!
Have returned to office. Its 3.30 pm. The whole day has been lost. This working from home lark is not all its cracked up to be.
Will do a couple of hours work then go and hose stinky dog down.
The question is do I go round later to house of Laurel Hedges and dreadful neighbours and check on cat? Or keep a low profile?

Go and see the neighbours, you can only lead by example! WFH sounds amazing for those like me that enjoy avoiding work ;)
