Really like that show too. I'm not sure that I could do the re-designs either but it has made me re-think second-hand clothing. Since finding the little tailor/alteration shop I think I could dress better for less. Won't know till the mortgage is paid off though as am sticking with wearing what I have till then:)

Am sticking with the no new clothes till then (unless is for riding as I had to lay on the floor of the horsebox at last event and struggle into jods. Thank heavens the event was not that busy :) Clearly they have shrunk in the wash :rotfl)

Neck seems worse after chiropractic treatment. Just off for hot shower to see if that helps, then riding lesson, then ....errr...work, yes that's it work!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Just entered Handsome Baby for show on Saturday .... have pre-entered for dressage and may have a giggle and do something else. Like bottom hole jumping or maybe handy pony will decide when we get there.

Wooo, competition crazy! What test are you riding? Handy pony/TREC is so underrated. The horse I'm riding now will fly over 1m but can't stand still for me to tighten up her girth nevermind trying gates, useless!

Prelim 7. Just off to learn it. Bit late but hey ho. Busy day at work, then out to see a play at a local friary. Drum roll....was watching instructor school handsome baby over some fences and I thought it looked rather fun so I got on him and had a go. Wahoo!!! She put the fences down to very little cross poles and I went over them a few times so a little course. So pleased with my progress. And pony's too!

Handy pony is a sort of obstacle course for horses and ponies. :) Decided not to do it. I've seen a couple of versions of this class but simply it is like a little obstacle course. So for example there might be a very small jump, a set of cones to weave in and out, a paddling pool one has to use a fishing net to fish a duck out of, a washing line, you might get a letter to post, or a teddy bear to pick up off a chair or the judge might put an umbrella up or something like that. Some times you get marks for just doing the obstacles and so can miss some out. Other times you do it against the clock.
If it had been a set course that one could just skip obstacles I might have done it. But it was one of the timed ones and as baby had already had a meltdown when I was silly enough to try and read the dressage test whilst sitting on him (that piece of paper was really really scary whilst mum had it in her hand sitting on him) I decided against it.
During his melt down he carted off across the carpark being a right silly. I dropped the paper and calmness was restored :)
Don't think the winners of the class were much troubled by the youngster entering - no chance of us getting near their scores :rotfl:

The annual mortgage statement has arrived in the post. I was so happy to see it :j
£77,716.54 overpayments made. Might need to read diary to see how I did all that :)
We've paid an average interest of £10.76 per day.
The bank charged an additional £117.05 for me overpaying part of one of the mortgages when there was a penalty clause. Won't make that mistake again :) No overpayments will be made now until September when fixed term ends.
Closing balance was £60,543.99 which didn't take account of July's payment.

That's great progress Watty, brilliant stuff! Shame about the penalty for the OPs but as you say at least that's a mistake you won't make again! Great to see the big numbers reducing in your signature!

Loving the pony adventures too, particularly the meltdown moment inspired by a piece of paper ... bless his little ways! :rotfl:

I haven't seen that C4 programme but sounds like something I could get into, am always making do and mending but can't use a machine, end up hand sewing everything ... your nifty tailors sounds like a gem. Sorry you've had to invest in a funeral dress though, that's pretty grim (hugs).

    That is great progress.

Paper ha! Ponyplops was terrified of baby wipes when we got her. And unusually coloured earth.
  • Fab progress on the mortgage. Lovely to see the figures drop :)
