Alchemilla and Smallholding Sister ..how lovely to see you here! Hope you are well and thank you for the kind thoughtsMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Ultrafrugalwoods challenge still playing out here. Today I had coffee out in a cafe with a friend. £5.75 spent. I thought about this. We could have had the coffee at mine, although that would have been further for her to drive. But actually given my life situation I find there is something charming about coffee in the local cafe. And yes, I would work an extra 6 months just to enjoy those moments. So coffee in a cafe stays.
(It might of course change when I sort my life out but for now it is a keep in the lifestyle even if not frugal)

Watty re the coffee in a lovely cafe, it is as much about the journey as the end goal. I have adopted a new mantra this week, "trust the process", I might be happier when x, y and z but I am trying to find the enjoyment along the way too.

(It might of course change when I sort my life out but for now it is a keep in the lifestyle even if not frugal)I totally agree with you. It's not about the coffee but rather the whole experience of sitting there either with a friend chatting away or on your own reading a paper or surfing the internet on a laptop. It's seeing other people come and go, young single others with their babies meeting together for a chat, old men meeting for comradeship, students doing their course work, people happily relaxing reading a novel.I have little to no vices. I don't smoke or vape. I don't take drugs. I don't drink alcohol except for the odd pint or glass of wine when out for a meal. I live frugally, buy food in bulk, make tumbledown meals and freeze them.A trip to a good coffee shop is a delight when the shop isn't too busy and something I would never wish to give up."A morning latte is a worthy companion in an otherwise unreasonable world"6 -

Interesting. Seems a few of us feel the same about the cafe.
Actually managed a full day at work today. First since before Christmas. Still not feeling 100% so shower and early night. Paid off Most Handsome's vet bill and remains of credit cards. Paid one bill accumulated with ex. Not sure what to do about the rest but am assured by solicitor I can deduct from final settlement if and when that ever comesMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Through various means which I will not go into here I have found out he has another place to live. He does not live there but visits daily often from about 7.00 am if he is not working, returning to the former home to cook a meal, make a mess, and sleep.
This means he prevents me using the joint home but does not need to be there when I am at the house working. Also it means he takes Wattydog when it suits him but just leaves Wattydog behind when it does not. He says he wants to keep Wattydog himself which I can accept although have concerns about how this will work as so often he just leaves Wattydog at the house with no thought as to who is going to care for him.
I am at my wits end and am reasonably sure this is why I do very little other than sleep and work as I think the stress has got to me.

I have considered it but I think the ex is marching to his own tune.
Thought about taking Wattydog home with me to my rental but think it will only cause me stress (it is on a farm with no fenced garden and a lot of dogs that live there)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
