Thank you all so much. The funeral was actually quite nice, everyone who came lit a candle and sat quietly.

We have then spent time clearing and sorting. Mr Watty has gone away for a couple of days with the dog on a road trip. I think he needed some down time and thinking and chilling time and I'm sure they will have a blast. They left before 5.00 am and were last heard of at lunch time in the lake district :)

I'm here working away and doing clear up. Popped out and bought a very extravagant tea of a duck breast, oven ready veggies to just pop in, a slice of cheesecake and a small bottle of wine. Planning on a nice tea, a bit of distraction with TV and early night :)
Will slowly start to catch up with everyones news over the next day or so. Thank you again for all the kind thoughts x

Awww, Watty. I love the sound of your extravagant tea, that sounds great. Hope you can catch up on some sleep too.

So glad to hear it all went well and that you and Mr Watty are both getting some time to de-stress. Your tea sounded lovely (can't beat a slice of cheesecake in my book!).

  • Just catching up and sorry to read that it has been a bit of a meh time for you all. Mr W's road trip sounds like a good call and hopefully you can both move forward with appropriate memories, and focus on "life" again very soon. It's tough, I know, and there are no rules, of course, but as the comments already made on the thread show, everyone has the common theme of caring, which is so reassuring in this day and age!

And as for cheesecake.....**enters drooling emoji here**

    the cheesecake was wonderful :)

The wine however may have been a mistake. A delightful one but a mistake nevertheless :)

But no one was around to witness your mistake . Ergo it didn't happen.

Thanks AM and SHS ... love your point of view. Mr Watty abandoned camping and gone to stay with a friend in the highlands. Been hectic here, total computer failure caused the business to get a day behind and the stress of it all made me lose a lot of sleep. So tired today ..would love an early night but have arranged to go out with a couple this evening...am selling it to myself that it will be a nice meal and they are good company :)
Turning it all into a positive I have made a weekend long list of "things to do" and planned a nice Sunday lunch out and ....included on the list is looking up some fun events to get Most Handsome out to! Have booked a "come as you are" dressage competition already, opting for that as I won't have to plait or find any show gear!

  • Sounds great. DD just did a photo showing competition. No wins though.
