Thanks. Made it by 8.30 in the end. Well rested and up at 6.30 this morning. Went over to Mr Watty's dads and cleared. Me, Mr Watty and a friend of his spent the morning there and a huge amount has been done. Only stuff "to sort" remains with a few bits we are keeping. Over the weekend we will light a bonfire and burn a lot of the wood that was just too much to go in skip. Amazed at how much we have done.

Today is a pause day. And a much needed pause day.I have refused to take her to the service. In 20 years she has never once been on time for anything I or Mr Watty have collected her for yet she manages her life perfectly well. I simply asked how she would get there and didn't engage when she said she supposed a taxi. I know full well she will be ready an hour before the taxi arrives but if Mr Watty or I go and get her she won't be ready and will have things to do and it will be a fluffle. I figure we don't need the stress and that Mr Watty in particular needs time to say goodbye.Updated signature. Was £52963 now £27152. That is a massive £25,811 paid off this year. I know it has been helped by the hard work I put into the business....and ..once this mortgage has gone I will be talking with Mr Watty about what next ......because I'm not sure I can keep this up!Amazed at how much we have done.

Watty you are amazing, I'm so impressed with how you are handling Mr Watty's family.
Hope you both enjoyed your evening in/out.0 -

Lovely night out with pal including a glass or two of much needed fizzy wine. Tapas selection to eat and £35 spent each. Frivolous money spending but worth it. Much needed moans and giggles all round.
Today back to cottage and more cleaning and clearing. But job almost done now. Rewarded ourselves with a pub lunch (£26 spent).
Just need to go back to clean the windows, wash out fridge and freezer and wash the kitchen floor and apply some varnish to the front door to stop it swelling before winter. We have left some bits we want in the shed so on next trip there we will take those away but essentially the job is done. Mr Watty keeps seeing jobs he could do, I think he is struggling with the idea his dad wont be going back there so I am hoping he will agree not to go back now until after the funeral.
And me, I'm back in the office catching up with the business so that tomorrow can be a complete day off.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I'm glad you had such a good night out, Watty, and I couldn't agree more that once you've taken what you've put aside in the shed, you need to stop until the funeral. I can't help thinking you're both going to need as much emotional energy as you can get to get through that day.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I think you are right KC.
Nothing done yesterday nothing done today. Mr Watty wants to pop into the care home on Tuesday and there are some bits in the cottage we will take then but the plan is to do nothing now till afterwards.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Mr Watty has a cold and so has a duvet day insisted on by me. I am in the office and should be working ....but...just spent a lovely hour or so reading on here. Lack the mental space to comment much but enjoyed diaries.
