Nearly half past four and no work done. Guess I will have to skip running club again tonight and work. Spent morning at cottage doing a spot of clearing and getting advice from an estate agent on best way forwards.
Cleared a lot of textiles and DVDs and Videos only to find that the textile bank Mr Watty said was in the next village has gone and the charity shop didn't take the videos. From this I have learnt that I need to take a lead as I had a hunch both were true. Dropped off the DVDs then drove to the local recycling centre/tip which is nearly a two hour round journey.
Came home and explained to Mr Watty that is not viable. he may have time off work but I simply don't have that luxury.
Then seizing the initiative have booked a skip but need to pop back this evening to ask neighbours if we can pop it on their drive for the weekend while we clear as Dad's doesn't have off road facility for skip. Hopefully they will agree to the easy solution.
I think the skip and a bonfire should resolve most of the clearing.

Now off to collect a bale of hay from a local farmer for the ponies to eat this evening and will sort hay problem out properly tomorrow when have a little more time.

  • And breathe.

And look after YOURSELF. First and foremost.

    And look after your work.

    And the animals.

The house - and all related stuff can wait. It will not go anywhere if not attended to.

Please, Watty, stop and step back. And breathe.

(Otherwise I shall have to kidnap you and force you to stop for a bit...)

I'm appalled for your sake, Watty, and letting rip is a completely reasonable thing to do. At the very least, you need that running club, and you need to keep your own business ticking over.

I'm sorry to say that I did lose that plot today and say that if they are expecting their share of the money the least they could do is get their butts down here and clear the place out ......and that I'm not ffing clearing for them (I always feel I have a lovely turn of phrase when riled and show my education was not wasted :rotfl:)

    Quite rightly so, watty xx

Today is a pause day. And a much needed pause day.
Yesterday we did all the chores that we needed to do to keep our lives on track like sorting out the hay, buying horse feed, collecting up lorry from repairers (ramp needed attention... £900 ) and then spend the evening with M-i-L.
I have refused to take her to the service. In 20 years she has never once been on time for anything I or Mr Watty have collected her for yet she manages her life perfectly well. I simply asked how she would get there and didn't engage when she said she supposed a taxi. I know full well she will be ready an hour before the taxi arrives but if Mr Watty or I go and get her she won't be ready and will have things to do and it will be a fluffle. I figure we don't need the stress and that Mr Watty in particular needs time to say goodbye.
And today I am in office working and Mr Watty is pottering around. Last seen mucking out stables which seems to be taking hours .... but that is ok ... he has the dog up there and probably needs the space.

Glad you're having a break and well done for not offering M-i-L a lift to the service.

Updated signature. Was £52963 now £27152. That is a massive £25,811 paid off this year. I know it has been helped by the hard work I put into the business....and ..once this mortgage has gone I will be talking with Mr Watty about what next ......because I'm not sure I can keep this up!

Thanks! Was a tough one that, glad I prepped Mr Watty on how we could manage the conversation in advance.
