How exciting this all is :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

It's become real to you! Thats the feeling of "would I pay to transport this?" If not, out it goes
In clearing my mum's house, we've been making lots of those decisions, about stuff of a fair size like bedframes, and tiny things, like an Observer book of English churches!
Before KonMAri concept existed my way of looking at things was 'would I pay someone to pack this and move it for me' - it certainly helps shift some things - and even more so when that's a distinct possibility it may happen (as opposed to my just looking for reasons to keep/ discard items)
All very exciting, Watty! :jI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Thanks. 18 items listed yesterday. Seen more to go today. Waiting to see if I can move a couple of events to clear space in diary to get to see house. Even if this one goes I think our mindset has changed.....
Mr Watty has told his place of work that we plan to move out of South East and discovered he needs to give around 6 months notice....but that's ok we can move and figure out a way he can work out his notice by staying somewhere nearish work for part of the time.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

It really is working for me. I would have said last year that these items sparked joy or had the potential to do so when used in someway - yet faced with the concept that I may pay someone to pack and move these items - actually I don't want to do that!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Hi WATTY
Great to read about your plans - SO exciting.
I was pretty ruthless about selling stuff and CS-ing stuff before we moved - and I've still got 4 boxes ready to take to CS now we've unpacked.
Good luck and really looking forward to hearing about it all.

Cant get to see the house in Cornwall for 2 weeks but it has been on the market since last June so if it is meant to be it will be and I am not going to stress that I can't get there almost immediately, although I do admit I want too!
In the meantime, two items sold, one at £7 and one at £5. Not a lot but that is two items I don't need to think about and there are another 21 up for auction and a few on buy it now.
Will do another cupboard tomorrow!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Bummer about having to wait to see the house, but on the other hand it might help temper any overexcitement and give you guys a chance to figure out more logistics.
If it's been on the market for 6+ months another month or two shouldn't matter too much.
Well done on the auctions! I've only sold a couple of things on ebay, but should probably consider it.0 -
I find there's always more to declutter - it's a constant process of evaluation. One day, I dream I'll be able to live in a 'tiny house' a la the craze in America! I'd have to part with all my kitchen stuff though, so doubt it'll happen!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
