Puppy went to local tea room. Unlike kitten he is full of confidence :rotfl: charmed entire tea room, I had a decaff coffee and Mr Watty had a hot chocolate and a brownie. Unnecessary spend on one hand but great for socialising puppy on the other.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Is there a dog park anywhere near you? Great for socialising and tiring dogs out.
Yay for kitten exploring a bit, and puppy having an outing.0 -
Sounds like good progress with kitten Watty!
I'm with you - although clearly there is probably benefit to super-duper spreadsheets that analyse everything, it can be disheartening to look at them when the figures don't seem to add up - but the joy of self-employment is that you never know what's around the corner income-wise! I think I'd struggle in a job with a fixed salary now - it would be so boring. As you say, the baby steps (£5 here, £10 there) all add up and before you know it you've achieved the goal, without really knowing how. I'm sure you'll get there for Easter - but if not, it won't be long anyway!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Somewhat surprised that I can save over £12 on a box of franking labels just by shopping around, yet, I do shop around for stuff for the house (other than by Amaz0n stress purchases)
Please be careful with non-brand franking labels. I worked somewhere where a replica label company had a right old 'scam' going on. People would phone up and pressure the receptionist into ordering a load 'as we're moving premises and may not be able to get them to you for some time' or any other old guff story. They used to get the sharp end of my tongue when they tried it on me! I found we'd got literally thousands of them in the cupboard as a succession of staff/temps had been caught. What was worse, the labels were slightly smaller than the standard ones, and one jammed inside the machine. Cost us £70 to get it unjammed. After that we only ever used the proper branded ones and didn't have a problem (other than they were expensive). We used the replica labels to write names on folders, but I suspect there was something like 10 years supply still there when I left.Make £2025 in 2025

Great idea, so googled it but the only one near me is about 40 mins drive and puppy very car sick so that isn't really an option just yet.

Comments and advice duly noted! Thank you. May have to buy expensive branded ones as at least they will be here tomorrow and I’ve run out, but, comments taken on board for next time.

Showed Mr Watty the financial planning retirement back of the envelope sums - well it is on a spreadsheet - and he was most impressed that actually I have a plan and that we are on track.
Less impressed when I showed him the shortfall but we need to hit 79 for that to be an issue and then he surprised me by saying if we could surely earn a little here and there which would solve the shortfall and that retirement with 'odd jobs' would be so much better than this........
I think I am getting somewhere
Sadly the planned nice evening has been ditched however as dad seems to have upset the carers (one walked out yesterday and refused to go back) and now these evenings carers can't cope with him. Mr Watty gone to see what is going on. Think this may be a late night.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Late night turned into an all night plus all day yesterday. Dad now back in hospital. It seems antibiotics interfere with anti psychotics. Seems the hospital doctors who prescribed the antibiotics were not aware of this and things have now seriously unravelled.
