Some great ideas here. Have invested in wake up light with alarm as getting up is also part of the problem. And have moved phone to other side of room as leaving it out of the room seems hard for me to do. 2/3rds of the month to go and crack this.
(Hop pillow smells disgusting but I do admit I am dropping off to sleep with it even if it is later that I would like)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

And in financial news I am still looking for business savings. Ditched insurance on franking machine so that will save £60 a year and sourcing stationery from other suppliers rather than one click or one call suppliers is halving that bill! Somewhat surprised that I can save over £12 on a box of franking labels just by shopping around, yet, I do shop around for stuff for the house (other than by Amaz0n stress purchases)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Snowing. Have moved kitten pen inside to the office. She isn't sure about this and has gone back to hiding but the mouth of the haybarn full of snow. Not sure neighbours radiator can cope with that! Kitten is blaming small bear that she came with, little stuffed pink bear has been moved out of cat basket/sleeping pod and dumped beside litter tray. Feel bear is taking the blame for upheaval.
Puppy never wants to go in office so kitten can have her pen in there whilst weather so bad. Mr Watty says if kitten has any sense she will now become a house cat rather than a barn cat.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I had my first "good" night last night. Got in bed at 11.00 and read until 11.30, then light out and a guided meditation. I did go to sleep, not really quickly but did sleep.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Good news for kitten and for business savings! Well done Watty2023: the year I get to buy a car0

That is brilliant. Well done! I managed midnight and sleep and awake at 7.20 so I did well too.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Financial update: checked how much I could overpay on the current mortgage and £3000 overpaid. Signature updated. Fix ends 31/01/17 and lining up a cheaper deal for February with unlimited overpayments allowed but getting that sorted out is a paperwork trial.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

You are doing so well with the overpayments. Kitten sounds like fun xPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

Thanks. With our goal of Easter, I think it is really fun. It seems so unachievable really but for some reason the impossible seems like a target worth going for. So if I save £5 here and £3 there and then another £2 I get really excited. I love reading the stories of spreadsheets and budgets (especially over on Eds diary at the moment) but for me that would just highlight that I have set a goal that is not feasible on paper. So just to keep rolling on seems to be quite motivating. I do have a spreadsheet that a once a month I update with all our savings and cash in hand then I tally up how much more we need by Easter, smile, close the sheet and move on
This morning kitten feels daunting. I have a feral kitten in a tiny pen in my office who is silent and just staring at me and I'm wondering what I have done. Awww...scrap that I broke from typing to pop some food in and she began to purr. It will be okMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Kitten had her first explore of the office. Terrified but did manage to look around and play with her ping pong balls. Wouldn't come near me but did come up to me once back in her pen.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
