    Hello Watty
I've been reading through your diary recently loving the stories of Most Handsome and the adopted/fostered/borrowed cat.

I'm sorry to see that you are feeling so rough. Can you give yourself a few days off from everything bar looking after the animals. MK your life for a few days and only do things that bring you joy as you sound really worn out. I have a chronic problem with my back so I sympathise how wearing being in pain is.

I hope things start to look up soon.

Thank you for the lovely comments. Went with two girlfriends to Portugal and it did really seem to perk me up. Back to an overflowing desk did not - but - I am now seriously thinking of MK life towards end of year - depends on how that savings pot goes but am thinking I need to make plans as this life is not sustainable.

I'm so glad you felt better on holiday, Watty.

But you've actually been told that some of the treatments you've gone for have made the condition worse? I'd have a fit at that :( But certainly, if your life is unsustainable this way, it has to change - that's why I'm retiring, I'm not at all sure I'd make it through another winter if nothing changed :( I'm also investigating low-carb as a way of eating, as everyone I know feels better on it, even my sister.

Back to post. Things unravelled even more if possible and now have a diagnosis of some weird condition that no one seems to have heard of (bppt) which is why I am so knackered and why the room keeps spinning round me at an alarming rate. Probably caused by osteopathic treatment and the neck adjustments.
Inspired by a pal on here found a different chiropractor locally who does no "cracking stuff" and he suggests about 10 sessions should help. Doc says about 10 weeks and whole thing should settle down.
Shoulder still vile but that's the least of my problems :)

Just back from fabulous 4 days in Portugal. Sun rest and good food and for one of those days I was actually pain free. I'm now thinking about going back in a weeks time if Mr Watty will look after animals.

Glad you had a good break in Portugal.

Spinning rooms are no fun at all - when I had vertigo it was probably the worse thing of all, just used to make me so ill

Some Menieres people on forums say their vertigo disappeared after going to a chiropractor, so it's certainly worth a try.

I think the weather has been so bad recently, it doesn't help.

I was hoping to spend long summer days on the patio.... It just hasn't happened. I was only thinking the other day that maybe we needed to do a Gallygirl and just emigrate!

Hope you get some relief your pain soon

By the way I should add that whilst in Portugal I remembered Goldie posting about her low salt diet and how helpful that was - so - had a totally salt free day as found amazing vegan raw food place to eat - and - that was the day I felt best so going to be checking that out in more detail. Thank you Goldie :j

I still follow my low salt diet - I don't need to be quite as rigorous as I was at the start but I'm still very careful about what I eat.

Eating out can be a minefield - the vegan place sounds great - all you can eat and not loaded in salt !

It might be worth talking to yourdoctor about diet. Low salt diets can be bad for some people, such as people with low blood pressure.

But it works for me, and I found that once I started looking at one part of my diet, the rest of my diet got healthier too.

    Good luck!

    !

I knew I remembered right about the salt thing :) Felt dreadful after breakfast today, quick check revealed the oatmilk has salt in, the butter is salted, the ryvita has salt in and so does the peanut butter. I'd added fruit and protein powder to the oatmilk to make a smoothie but no wonder I felt so awful after breakfast. Time for a rethink on that.
And thanks for confirming what you found on the forums. Def going to have to do a salt audit of diet I think.

Well I would go nuts too but no actual "proof". But definitely planning changes here ..... will update as I go but the tentative plan is to axe a lot of work as soon as the £50 k is saved and to continue to move towards a more technology orientated set up so I can work out of office more. Will update diary as I go!
I made a start on this last year setting the phone up - but - sort of stalled. More motivated now :)

That's the thing with salt, it lurks everywhere, and it just takes a few ingredients for it to really mount up.

I've now got into the habit of checking all labels on food and try and get the lowest salt option that I can. If it's too high for my requirements, I make my own, such as baked beans or mayonnaise.

I wish there was such a thing as low salt bacon. The one thing I miss is a nice bacon sandwich. One probably wouldn't do any harm, but I don't want to risk getting hooked!

Oh no Goldie. What am I going to eat at a horse show now??? All the horsey folk know that a bacon roll is an absolute must at an equine event (and the only thing available usually) :)
had not even got as far as thinking about bacon.

Much less nausea after no salt at lunch or dinner. Think I might take up making my own gluten free bread. If I am going to do the salt audit might as well be more health conscious after all.
