I like your investing idea, giving serious thought to similar, but with whisky investing

How about shares in a whisky distillery ? less storage required and less temptation to drink the investment on a bad day :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Still swallowing painkillers! Exercise plans stalled but did take dog for 4 mile walk yesterday evening so that sort of counts.

Work not making much profit, but then never does around this time of year as paying corporation tax and business insurance makes a big dent in the cashflow. However billing the company for its contribution to the household - which I do once a year - means that today there was enough cash in the cashflow to take the £3000 due and so an overpayment immediately made.

Next month should see me out of the 40s! Daily interest £4.81 now.

I did actually look into that, a new distillery in a remote part of Scotland. Rather annoyingly I missed the subscription date by a matter of days!

Anyway, I'm pretty restrained with whisky, something that costs ££ a glass is not to be drank in anger ;)

£20 spent on meal out last night. Nice evening, got back very late and fell into bed at around midnight to be woken at 2.08 by barn alarm going off. Mr Watty is away so was a bit scared. Then as I woke up properly remembered we have installed recently, at great expense, CCTV so came downstairs and put the camera on to find it was a false alarm. Rattled though so watched the screen for about 25 mins then couldn't get back to sleep :(

Neck still really painful and severe headache. Will try to see a chiropractor/osteopath next week if this hasn't cleared by end of bank holiday. That plus a lack of sleep means I have down very little today - but - did do an overall review of finances and discovered that that things are not looking too bad.

Obviously we still need a better overall retirement plan for the pair of us but it cheers me hugely to think that we are on the way there.

Glad it was a false alarm, it must have been very unnerving! I hope your neck is feeling better soon and doesn't need a trip to the chiropractor

    Totally, I'm with Becky!

And brilliant to do a finance review (even if it was because you didn't feel good) and find out you're on the right tracks.
