Aw poor boy - at least you didn't have to fork out for an emergency vet. I sometimes wonder if they just want attention and pretend to be ill
I was meant to be hacking out this lunchtime but decided I don't want to go out in the rain he he !! Enjoy!Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k

Went for a lovely hack. A friend came and rode my elderly boy so we just went for a gentle potter round the lanes and then to local pub for lunch. Ordered the drinks only to find they were not doing food ...so very MSE like I asked what to do about the drinks as there were clearly signs up saying food when we went in! They took my drink back and agreed we could take pals cider away with us in a plastic mug covered with cling film. Went to second pub and ordered my mineral water plus 2 classes then nipped out so car and refilled glass from cider :rotfl:I didnt feel the slightest bit guilty as at 2nd pub we ordered lunch and 2 cups of tea so I felt they had done OK and we hadnt wasted money on drinks. Friend was a bit embarressed but admitted she was proud of me for not wasting any cash :TMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

The zip on my riding boots broke this morning before lesson. (another fab lesson - this instructor was such a find...baby is actually progressing and I am gaining confidence
).
My boots are long leather really comfortable and very old and I checked on line to see how much replacement boots would be. Umm... The new frugal me then set out boots with pliers to free the zip, leather polish wipes to clear away any dirt and vasaline to lubricate the zip (thank you mr google for that tip).
And yay... the zip is working again! :T
I'm almost embarressed to admit the old me would have thrown them out. I think I prefer the new frugal me.:)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Gentle potter around the lanes today with neighbour. I've ridden every day this week so far
This is so much better than when I began diary and was really too scared to ride.
And nearly doing better on the frugal front. Although lesson learned...do not do an online shop at 3 am when I cant sleepWe have a fridge stuffed with food and no meal plan. Will have to have a cooking binge in order to make sure none gets wasted!
The washing basket broke so that old green plastic bucket that once stored coal has been cleaned and will replace the washing basket. I am so not spending money where I dont need to.
Today am using a very sticky feeling moisturiser (uck,, cant believe this brand would be nearly £25 a tub!). I am beginning to feel most saintly using up some of the many products that were cluttering up the bathroomI admit to feeling most cheerful when I chunk out an empty container!

Watty you are doing soooo well. I love the money saving over the last few days!! You're right - this journey does change you! I'm so much less wasteful now - although worried this might turn into hording
Great progress with pony too. However you are making me feel bad that I haven't ridded for the last 2 days (and wont again tomorrow as his shoe is just about to fall off!)Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k

:T congrats on the thriftiness. I refused to replace ours for months until I found one for £1 at a car boot. Then I had a strop because bf threw our old one out when I had intended to use it to grow potatoes in like I had seen on Pinterest :rotfl:0 -

I hope it works for you. I tried it on fleece that Mr Watty said I should bin because the zip kept getting stuck - and - hurray - it is also working nicely now.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Well todays update is not particularly money saving. Eds has moved in. Eds is Mr Watty's pony. I will say he is very cute and he has been away doing showing etc with a lovely woman who is now finding her university degree is taking more and more of her time so Eds is with us. Mr Watty is so delighted to have him here that it seems a bit mean to point out that he has gained weight (Mr Watty that is) and so is probably too heavy to ride him. Plus Mr Watty hasn't ridden for over 10 years and isn't particulary interested in doing so again so I'm not sure what Eds is going to do. Other than eat :rotfl:
So now Eds is living in the field and my baby has totally lost the plot:cool: Eds walked off the trailer, said, oh I live here now then eh? No problem. Within 20 mins you'd think he had lived here forever.
Baby however has done nothing but charge around bucking and farting since then - that is for nearly 24 hours!! I bought baby in today to take him for a gentle hack round the lanes and Eds began to scream and shout, my elderly decided to join in and baby po-go'd around the yard like a lunatic. Tacking up was a challenge to say the least. Not ideal for a not very confident Watty
Thankfully baby settled down on hack once he was out of earshot of the yard and behaved beautifully. Mr Watty says baby is daft and Eds is perfect. I can see this is going to be a challenge!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
