Brilliant work getting rid of the chairs! Will mil expect to see them next time she comes round?
A good point. I will have to admit to giving them away to someone who had need of them more than I .... how does that sound??

Yep! They would've been nice for you, but they were essential for the previously homeless little family that you knew (in a neighbouring town, so she can't go and admire them in their new place!).

I didn't notice the posts about coat hangers yesterday.

I agree, you can't beat a good wooden coat hanger!

Although most of my coathangers are M&S freebies.

But I do have a favourite wooden hanger, with the initials 'YG' written on it in pencil. YG was the initials of an aunt who died very young, before I was born. It feels like a significant coathanger, and I always hang something nice on it

Feel worse than usual today. Decided herbs are not working. Have switched to another lot. Spent am on sofa. But have at least managed to clear one drawer as part of lent project and shredded vast amounts of paper - and - added in a cupboard too.

I spent the afternoon in my armchair, Watty, you're not alone - I was shattered after a bad sleep cos of a noisy neighbour. But what you *did* get done is good - isn't it astonishing how much room shredding takes up! I was doing that today too :)

    Uck to noisy neighbours.

Shredding very therapeutic. I've spent the evening doing another two drawers of filing cabinet.

Was feeling very down and started work on todays task for lent challenge. Cleared a pile of books that maybe haven't been touched for years. Now my granny has been dead nearly 20 years, yet in the pile I found a card. I've no idea why she sent it to me, there is no date on it, but there was a very touching message inside that seemed right for today. It made me cry. I felt like she was watching over me. And so although I cried I felt so cheered up. Card now on desk.
