E.g. Chanel no five doesn't suit me at all. However lovely. And it didn't Sui my sister until she had children. I have come to the conclusion it maybe doesn't work with some women until they are older or have had children maybe. Others might have the right body chemistry or sophistication to carry it off younger, on me its just...not right, smells wrong.
i was put off Chanel No 5 for life (well, until now, and continuing, anyway) when an American I went on a couple of dates with bought me some, "because my Mom wears it"....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Appreciate all your replies guys, thank you.
My nose and I will need to spend some time in town one day.
A lot of smells seem to smell quite 'chemically' to me for some reason, I must just have a weird sense of smell.
Will scrounge some samples from smelly shops.Herman - MP for all!0 -

I'm currently loving Marc Jacobs Daisy which I wear as a daytime scent or Clinique Happy & if going out its Calvin Klein Euphoria. When I was 16 years old I used to wear the Body Shop's Fuzzy Peach........yuk I must have smelt like I fell into a vat of Peach Schnapps :rotfl:52 Week Challenge £15/£13780

Especially as they keep discontinuing the ones I like
I wear the M & S one almost every day, because it's cheaper as well as being nice, the Black Cashmere one for evenings, and Allure once in a while, for a change. So I smell pretty similar, most of the time, and have for ages....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I like Elle Saab too, and Geminesse (discontinued
) I love Paul Smith Extreme which OH bought me for Christmas.
Currently wearing Ralph Lauren Big Pony 3Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Chanel no5, Donna Karan Cashmere Mist & a few Jo Malone ones as my dailies.
I love perfume and smell is probably my favourite sense. I really notice people who smell nice and men who smell 'clean', houses that smell stale etc. I wear perfume every day and reapply at least once, although I'm careful not to overdo it since I hate loads of perfumes/aftershaves and dislike overpowering smells.
I'm another that wears it to bed, certainly after a bath, although just walking in to a mist of light EDT sprayed in to the air so I don't overpower things.
It's funny how some people can last years on one perfume bottle. I go through a few a year (yes it's definitely my financial priority, I just love smelling *nice*)0
