  • Hello everyone,

One last UU for me and its an eyeshadow! Those never happen :rotfl:

Elizabeth Arden duo eyeshadow in a neutral work appropriate brown shade - WNBA as I have dozens of eyeshadows to get through and may never need to buy again.

My totals for September are 4 UU and 1 In, my numbers are small but at least the stash is going in the right direction.

Off to October's thread now, see you there!

Totally agree on the Smashbox thing. I don't understand how excited people get. Every product I've tried is average at best.

I am the same with Benefit, I once bought a mobile phone that came with a £100 voucher for their online store, I spent it and found every single item to be absolute rubbish!!
That does help a lot, thanks for that. I've just tried the cheapo heat protection spray I bought and it was fine, (lovely smell) but Home Bargains often have stuff once and never again.

The reason I couldn't post a review or say what the product is precisely is because they were supplied by Am@zon/manufacturers to review on Am@zon. The idea being that my review will then help people to make an informed decision on purchasing - from Am@zon, naturally, not from anywhere else. Which you could easily do.

However, it occurred to me that directing you to the page on Am@zon is probably exactly what they would like. :D

I use my real name on Am@zon, though just my initials. I am not allowed to canvass for helpful votes. ;)

:rotfl:Fair enough! Seems different to the Boots review panel.....

Sorry to be a pain but lush do use a melt and pour base that they buy in made from rapeseed and coconut oil. In the factory they add fruit juice and scents e.t.c I still have a piece of old formula snowcake soap from about 7 years ago and it's beautiful I don't want to use it as I will never get anymore.

    UU's
Nivea soft 8ml sample WNBA nice enough

Olay regenerist 7 ml sample WNBA it had a high SPF but it was a little too rich for my skin

I was intrigued by this, and looking at their website it does suggest they buy it in, but they did work with the base manufacturer to develop it, so it's a bit confusing! I don't think it's anything special though, there are a lot of ways to make soap that don't use palm oil. It's frustrating when they stop making a product you really like though...

I got the results of my allergy test back today - Nickel and Sodium Metabisulphite (aka sulphites). It means I can't be having champagne baths :rotfl: and may have problems with some fake tans, cosmetics, toiletries and medicines. I have no idea if an allergy to sulphites would mean I also have a problem with Sulphates, but I hope not!

Time to move over to October me thinks...

    Last UU's

Suqqu face refresher WNBA just glad to finally finish it.

Nip + fab wrinkle fix sachet WNBA

I am - 88 items which is a vast improvement for me.
  • Final UU:

Lush dragons egg bath bomb - one of my DD's favourite but I think the last one crackled but this one didnt. WBA.

3 bath & shower gel hotel samples - reused as bubble bath.

Nivea waterlily shower gel - WBA although it wasnt long lasting the fragrance was pleasant and had lots of suds.

L'oreal make up remover - WNBA it was OK but I prefer the Garnier one which is also cheaper - think I still I have one as it was on offer.

Sample size Tend skin - I epilate and occasionally get ingrown hairs I find this the only thing to get rid of them.

Johnsons natural cream - WNBA one of my oldest stash relics (and still one to go) this was a left over from when DD was small she is now 7.

Emma Hardie morninga cleansing balm - loved the smell and wanted to love the product however my skin was not a fan so WNBA.

    Monthly totals:

    74 UU
    91 Sold/GA/TA
    so 165 out
    but
    119 in
    total -46 this month
    No more buying toiletries
  • Final UU of the month: BS 60ml Moringa shower gel.
WIBA? Don't think so, nothing wrong with it at all, but florals are not quite my thing . Also, there's the value aspect.
I make a point of buying just about all my everyday toiletries on offer, so I normally pay less than £2 for 200-250 ml of decent Avon or Original Source stuff.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • A couple of UU: L'occitane verbena perfume 0.3 Was really surprised this was loose perfume in an envelope, but enjoy the scent.
Soltan invisible transparent spray factor 50 - TA as this is more than 6 months old and I won't be going away for another 6 months. WIll throw the other sun lotions out shortly.

Not an IN, but I found the cherry hand cream so that's back on the list.

All in all this month I have 37 IN and 29 UU. Must try harder!:rotfl:

    A last few OUTS...

16 - Lush breath of fresh air toner - flippin gorgeous herby scent and lavender to keep the spots under control. Right onto the favourites list.!
17 - Batiste big and bouncy dry shampoo - TA awful. Dry shampoo with hairspray. used twice and regretted both times.
18 - Lush dirty perfume. For men I think, but smelt all herby and minty. Loved this as a summer scent.

Didn't make my one a day this month. :(
    Cookie, I think you're tame. :heart2:

Totally agree: I can get OS shower gels for £1 in the pound shops here, but in the supermarkets/Boots etc. they are up to £2.50!

I won't pay more than £1 for it, and don't need to.

My other rule for everyday stuff is that if you are buying in Boots (unless there's a very good special offer on) you are paying way over the odds and aren't trying hard enough. (That could be different for other parts of the country, though).
