  • One UU Rituals T'ai Chi white lotus & green tea shower gel. Smelles lovely but didn't seem to last very long.

This morning I decided to do a stash list:eek: I haven't typed it up yet but might get it ready for the 1st, I haven't much stock piled just too many things in use at once I think:o
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • TA

Next aftershave - this was given to us by a friend from work so was already a relic but my DH doesnt wear much aftershave so used this as a room fragrance.

    UU

Elemis trienzyme resurfacing mask - WBA
Elemis exotic cream moisturising mask - first time using and it seems nice but will reserve judgement for a few days before a final decision on repurchase.
    No more buying toiletries

I completely agree with people who've said the Boots xmas gifts are uninteresting, they're exactly the same largely, annoyed there's no FCUK women's stuff though as I like that. I would normally go mad on S&G but I'm very over that and Sanctuary thanks to previous years of over-buying.

Thinking about it I will probably go to the sale on boxing day (I have no family and spent xmas alone so it's my treat), but I will be looking for other stuff i.e. cheap kids clothes to put away for presents the following year.

  • Big hello to the new guys!

I have a small confession to make - I've bought a few minis for me holidays but I forgot to count them up, so will declare what I can remember - 4 INs Sanctuary Body wash/body scrub/moisturiser £5.00 (342 offer) (best bit is I realised I'd be better off with a bar of dove and a tub of Palmers I'd already decanted into a body butter pot - I hate trying to get it out of the bottle) *facepalm*. But I do love Sanctuary. Ho Hum. I bought a tube of Twisted sista Curl activator on a whim £1. No idea why - it's not as if I don't already have a bunch of serums and what not. And I think that's it. Budge up on the naughty step.

OTOH, I have 2 UUs to declare - Boots essentials shampoo - I was using this as a preshampoo so I didn't use up all my good ones to quickly if I needed to shampoo twice :rotfl:I WBA but only once I've got through the StashTM and only have one nice one left :p

And the other is Dove hairtherapy 2in1 - WNBA I bought this as it was "convenient" but I prefer separates.

    Till next month!

anyone posing a new link?(you know by now I have no idea how to:rotfl:)last day of Sep tomorrow:(

I'm happy to give it a shot - will do tomorrow from work as on my phone atm and think I'd struggle with all the copying and pasting!

    UU:

    31. No 7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking facial wipes 30 - WBA if on offer/glitch, I like these for the convenience factor

    32. Colgate Total Interdental toothpaste 15ml - WMBA, did the job

    33. Garnier Moisture Match oily/combi face moisturiser 1.5ml - WNBA, texture of this was a but weird IMO

    34. Palmolive Ayurituels Joyous shower gel 250ml - WBA if on a decent offer, lathered well and smelled nice

    35. D&G Desire The One EDP 1.5ml - WBA, nice lingering scent

Hello, I haven't been in to post for a while, but had nothing to report! However, as of this weekend I have three ins and two outs!

In...lush butterball x2 and honey I washed the kids soap

Out...mini bottle of dove body wash and a lush bath bubble/crumble bar (can't remember which one it is! Pink/white and swirly in design...)

I hope you are all doing well x
  • I haven't used lush since i gave up SLS because they still use it and i really dont agree with the militant way lush have promoted causes recently. i got properly collered the last time i went in and i felt like i couldn't dare say i disagreed with their viewpoint or id be labelled a witch and burned at the stake there and then or something. it really put me off going back.

Waaaa sorry to hear this evilsquid, that's a bit rubbish on your behalf. Lots of lush staff agree on SLS, we have a couple've things without it in though that are lovely :o

I don't think you are alone we all have companies/ products we like, I don't get what the fuss is about with l'occitane or Molton Brown I have tried several products from both companies and won't again.
Lush I used to absolutely adore this company and would spend £100 plus in there every month but things have changed. Every offer has been removed, They are stopping accepting 10% vouchers at the end of next month, the product prices are going up and up, retro is now in silly prices, the quality of products over the last 2 years has gone down hill fast. SLS's are used in so many products the shampoo pucks list SLS as the first ingredient, I can't get on with any of their hair care range apart from jungle. The soap is melt and pour soap that lush buy in and then add tons of water to and then they wonder why they shrink so much and a lot don't lather well. But I do love some of there scents and I do like there bubble bars and bath bombs and can't find any company that do them better. I do like there Facial cleansers and face soaps and a few other bits. I have a stash of twilight shower gel which I love and I bottle of blue skies bubble bath ( which I will use as shower gel) which is my favourite scent that lush have ever done but I am saving it as I doubt it will be released again.

Ahhhh Xmas things are nice, maybe pop in and have a look?
Can I just be a lush geek and correct you on the soap formular?
It is all made on site at the factory and it is formulated from a blend of oils like rapeseed and coconut so that we no longer use palm oil.
There are big issues with deforestation linked to the commercial palm oil market that they decided they didn't want to be part of.
Tis true the soaps don't lather as much as they used to, but the orangutangs will thank us for it :D

Morning all, hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weather.

Re Lush - I have never really got on board with their stuff, I feel a bit confused when I go in and don't really know what's what and if you stop and look at anything the staff pounce. I have only ever repeat purchased one thing and that is the Dream Cream for DD's eczema and I can recommend this as it really does keep it calm and it smells so comforting and soothing.
We are trained pouncers....sorry for that. just tell us to pee pee off in a nice way and we find other butterflys to jump on :D
We're not on the hard sell at all, promise! Well, I never am, I just like people and chatting to them. Most of the time its un-lush related too :rotfl:

  • What is this thread about .
Lists of toiletries to buy or to avoid

    Helloooooo Shinninglikeme.
Its about using what you have and telling people if you liked it or not, why you did and if you would buy it again.
I would say the main purpose of it is to encourage us hoarders who have lots of toiletries to use and love buying toiletries to USE what we have, enjoy it and learn from our mistakes/triumps to buy more cleverly (in less bulk) :D
Well...thats what I aim to get out of it anyway :j

I have been to training this evening and managed to come back relatively empty handed, hoorah!
    4 INS (spoilers alert)
    1x supertopsecretbathbomb
    1xsupertopsecretbathbomb
...just kidding, that would be annoying wouldn't it? I have one 'shoot for the stars' and one 'bombardino'
1x black pot of snow fairy
1x ickle chunk of orange jelly soap
I am taking the shower gel and soap on holibobs with me, they should get used up I hope.
Also hoping to use up a few bits and bobs whilst away :D
Packing as we speak...will update again next week with my UUs

  • UU: Sunsilk Blonde Bombshell revitalizer/conditioner/highlight refresher. found it in the shower basket nearly finished and used it up. I haven't been a blonde in over two years, so that will give you an idea of how long I've had it.

Tossed a Dior Maximizer Lash plumping serum. GWP size. Wouldn't go out of my way to buy any of these type of products as I don't really understand what they do. I've got a few more assorted brands tucked away because for a while they were in every GWP bonus.

Got a few splutters and cut open tubes on the go.

I'm another one that loathes Lush. The smell of the store gives me a headache. Unfortunately all of the ones I've seen have been in malls and the smell just seems concentrated.

The leaves are falling off the trees and the snow won't be far behind. And so starts another six months of winter.
  • As some of you know, I'm a member of Am@zon Vine, which offers me goodies to review and keep each month. Mostly it's books but other items do appear.
I have no say in what's on the list of 'stuff' I'm offered.

However, because I have reviewed a lot of beauty products, I've been offered some beauty related 'stuff' too.

The one thing in particular I never managed to be offered was straighteners.
Until now. I'm the proud owner of a version new to the market.

Previously, I wasn't quite sure if I'd get on with them and having made mistakes with gadgets in the past, I was reluctant to spend £50 on something I wouldn't like, so I'd held off from buying.

Following a first use, I am now a very happy bunny. I cannot give too many details of what they are exactly, that's outside the rules, but I have given them 5 stars on my review.

They are made by a major European company, noted for quality products, so will hopefully last.

So another IN from Home Bargains - Salon Chic So Smooth Straightening Mist to use with them.
Some of the HB stuff I've used in the past has been great, some not so good.

Does anyone here have a recommendation on what would work well on fine, flyaway, coloured hair when using straighteners?

I didn't use anything on my dry hair the first time, but I'd conditioned my hair really well with a rinse out conditioner as a precaution. I have such thin, fine hair, I daren't risk any damage.
