    I'm back!
I took a few week off because i was becoming a bit wedding'd out......
Not crazy Bridezilla or anything but we have had a few weekends away visiting family and everybody just won't stop talking wedding to me!!!!
We told everybody.... look we have booked everything and put deposits on everything so we know what we want and we are not going to get into it all with everybody until after Christmas as it will be nice to do in the deep dark days of Jan / Feb. We have some 'helpful' family members shall we say and we really don't like their styles lol
Everybody wants to get involved, not in a horrid way but in a really happy way but it is all a bit to much some times.

It's making us feel secretive but it is just sensible to leave it until after the festivities so we can enjoy them without worrying about the wedding.

Although we are going to the registrar in two weeks so show out ID's and do the paper work. It had been reserved for us and we had to show our ID's within three months.... that is up on Christmas Day... times flies!!!!
  • few glad someones still here lol. thats the reason we are doing it in secret over helpful relatives with strong opinions love them to bits but we want our wedding to be our wedding. im expecting 'help' with reception because they are going to know about that for 8 weeks lol. quite agree about xmas iv sorted the need to do stuff now but then will be put on hold till jan cant help still planning stuff though.
iv done 3 things right in my life and their all perfect

Im still herebi just am weddinged out just now.

oh did manage to get ceremony changed to 2pm, it was no bother as they had said before but makes me better that its sorted now. Theyve never said anything about showing id though... i think we have a meeting 3nmonths before the ceremony. Maybe it gets done now.

im tempted to order some invites as vistaprintbhave sent me a 10 discount code but its reallllllllly early for that, or is it? Lol

i still need to book the bus but am really resenting the money lol

maybe il be more in the mood during the school holidays when my nativity shows over, think thats stressing me out just now!
  • I'm a June 2014 bride! We're getting married on the 27th. So far we have the venues (ceremony and reception) booked, registrar booked, bridesmaids dresses bought, save the dates sent, photographer booked. We'll be doing a lot ourselves (flowers, cakes, invitations) as we're trying to stick to a budget, which is already at £8k! Plus we've just had an offer accepted on a flat and the wedding fund has been drained to pay for it. Whoops!

Am finally trying on dresses in 2 weeks time when we go home to see my family in my home country for Christmas! Haven't seen my Mum in 15 months and not since we got engaged so there is going to be a lot of wedding talk!

I'm loving some of the ideas on here. Sounds like you're all going to have amazing weddings!

Wow it is all sounding fantastic!!!

Mydefinition - We sent ours out about a month ago!! We have a lot of familt from lancashire and Glastonbury who we see all the time so they will have to arrange accomodation for the wedding and we decided to give them fair warning! The responses have been positive as people have to booke days off work to travel as we are getting married so early on the Saturday!

Squiffy- You must be so excited to see your mum! I bet you will be all weddinged out after seeing her though lol! Iv'e not even started looking at dresses... not going for anything to fancy and i don't mind it being a store sample, also my future mother in law can alter it! I might have a look on ebay for ideas but i am not to woried about the dress. It will only last a day so i am finding it hard to part with the cash for the dress lol

We decided this weekend to spend it by ourselves - no Christmas talk or wedding talk and went around the castle town on Conwy for their medevial light parade which was great fun. We went into a local jewelers to see if they could fix my engagement ring as a stone had come out of it. It is a Clogau Welsh ring so we didn't want to send it off anywhere not local. Within half an hour we left.... and we had chosen our wedding rings.... opps!!!
Completely unintentional as we chattted to the jeweler he got to know what sort of things we liked and he came back with 2 rings that we fell in love with there and then!
We pick them up in January lol
Bonus is that they cost about £400 less then we thought we would have to pay for Clogau!!!

We also tried some of our home made wine :)
The idea was to keep a few hundred pounds to one side to buy Welsh wine in May for the guests but resented having to spend that much when the Welsh Lager 88 pints and Ale 96 pints are under £100 each per keg! We decided that we will try to make home made wine and if it is good then great and if it is truely awful then we will buy the Celteg wine!!!
I am pleased to say that it is not to bad at all! Only made it 5 weeks ago so we will have to test a bottle or two every so often over the next few months just to check it is ok..... any excuse!!!

Can't beleive we are getting married in 202 days time.... 28th June :)

Scmp - i think i may just buy them, or some of them then if youve already sent yours out. Our wedding is very local, no one would have to travel far and only 2 people who would need to take a day of, who have a save the date.

when did you put your rsvp date? Our venue need final numbers 3 weeks before so i was thinking 2 weeks before that? Venue can add numbers after 3 weeks but cant take them away so not worth the risk paying for someone who isnt coming.

also ive a dilema - do i invite people from work to the night do? Ive a year post but will prob get moved after the summer again. Id be happy for most of them to go but some im not that keen on and its only a small work so it wouldnt be fair to say you can come but not you. Hmmmmmm leaning towards inviting them....

Haa haa a little pre Christmas wedding countdown, nothing like that to put a frightner on it all! 201 days does not seem long at all... 189 days seems a lot less though!!!!!

We didn't send out save the date cards but we were going to send invitation out with the Christmas cards to save on postage!!! Just as it happened though we were having our brother and sisters round for a takeaway so we told them and about 3 weekes later a bunch of family members came up for a meal so we gave his sides out there and posted my sides that day so everybody found out at once. It was all a bit of an accident!
If we did save the dates though i wouldn't have bothered sending out invites untill much later though.

Hmmm work people... i'm not sure? We are limited to 110 people at the barns. We have told our mums that it is 90 people, we have told everybody else it is 60 adults, 20 kids and a few friends and a few friends. I have only been in my job for 10 months and i do like everybody but if it is a choice between work and friends.... would you have to pay much extra for them? For us as we are getting married so early we would have to put 'extra' food on at night just for 10/15 people or they would have to be there by 4pm for food! We are having snacks for latter to soak up alcohol though ;)

If you have the room and it doesn't cost a huge amount then i would invite them. The ones you like will come and the others won't bother! Also the elder members of your family will be sloping off so you get to replace them with lively sober people! ;)

Also if you do have family members or people that can not come and let you know on your RSVP you would have spare seats to fill with work people? If it is just a night invitation people do not expect them until much closer to the wedding anyway so you would have a lot of time. Thats how we are playing it to be honest.

Our RSVP is March the 1st for camping at the barns (it is limited you see) and everything else is a bit wishy washy as the hog roast and lamb can go to more than 100 people or people can have extras if less than 100 people come, there is about 120 biscuits, crisps, cheese etc.
Oh yeah we were going to have cheese boards for desert as we were not keen on a wedding cake... so now we are having a cheese wheel wedding cake! They look great and lets face it... nothing else is exactly typical at our wedding lol It did take 20 mintues to convince my mum tho0ugh, she was NOT happy!!! After showing her google imiages of them though and saw they were decorated she now actually quite likes the 'unusual idea' as she puts it.
