Well we have hand made our invitations, rsvps, itinerary (with camping, a walk, a farm and bring your own drinks for the evening) we decided it best just to let everybody know what they are getting into from the get go!
The actual invite is cute, it is half an a4 sheet lengthways folded in to three. When you open it a piece of twine ties a knot and in it it says we are tying the knot! With location time and date. Daftly feel really proud and it is made from recycled card
They sound great! Can you try and upload pictures? Ive done ours on vistaprint butbi cant order them yet because were trying to move so we dont know what address to put on them0 -
Wow moving house and getting married in the same year, that's brave! I thought i was nuts for learning to drive and getting married at the same time. In my mind as i am such a worrier it will keep my mind off the wedding!!!
Here is the photo of the invitations.0 -

We may be slightly mad lol those invites look great really love the knot in the inside!0 -
Aww thanks
The knot is really loose and as you open the 'flaps' it ties the knot in front of you
Next on my list is to sort out our passports... wonky serial killer photos here we come lol0 -

My oh looks 'raging' in his passport and my face shows an orange teenager experimenting with make up. Not a great look :rotfl:0 -
Haa haa ace!
My old one has 'spice girls' bleach streaks at the font of my hair. I did it just before the Spice girls came out and i liked rock music... i was mortified! My OH looks like a pick pocket!!!! Not sure if will be able to afford a honeymoon but in 5/6 years together we have never been abroad. Plan to pay for the wedding as much as we can sooner rather than later. We are quite lucky as we were very 'MSE' and did a lot of our Christmas shopping in the Jan/Feb/March sales....
With a wedding and 'maybe' a holiday abroad instead of camping it will be a poor Christmas in 2014 lol0 -

Im sure you suited the spice girl look even if that wasnt your intention...
Were the same with the honeymoon not sure if we can afford it but fingers crossed as ive already planned it all. Weve never flown anywhere together made it to france last year via euro tunnel (not a pleasent journey from glasgow) but im insisting if we go ahead with honeymoon were flying.
Ive just started the christmas shopping were normally quite ms but not doing great this year and have 4 birthdays plus a new baby in the family to buy for.0 -
Hi my definition!
Just a note to see how things are going up there in Scotland?
I can't believe you drove all the way to France, I wouldn't even do that from Wales lol!!
We finally talked about a honeymoon and have settled on Italy! Our first ever trip abroad together and in a planeThere are a few 'deals' on flights but we are looking into it and realistically if we are sensible we will be able to afford it. We are going to tell our mums that if anybody asks about wedding gifts (we don't have a list or are asking for anything, we live together all ready and have everything essential) just mention that we are going to Italy and some Euros could be nice or a bottle of wine in the hotel would be fantastic! We are not expecting anything from it but you know mums lol.
Do you feel like you can't do anything yet?
I mean we have 8 months to go which is forever away but it's only 241 days... so i feel like we should be doing something!0 -

Wow 241 days! Not that your counting:rotfl::rotfl:
we didnt drive there we got the train but it was still awful. The things you do for your oh... I was looking up honeymoons last night. I had it all planned out on my tablet then it updated and it deleted everything so i had to re research it all. Were going to rome. I went when i was 16ish and always said i wanted to go back for my honeymoon. Looks like it will be chaper for us to get a package for the hotel i wanted (nothing too fancy just a nice 3 star hotel) because flights cost soo much and there only twice a week from glasgow. We thought we might not be able to afford it but its not as bad as we thought if like you said we are sensible. We are hoping that people will give us money for gifts if they want to give. Like you we have the essentials though it looks like we will be moving just after we get married so ikea vouchers ect may not be far wrong. I did mention were mad right :rotfl:
I showed oh all my work and hes told me not to book until after hes gone to doctors to check out what drugs he can get for the plane. I will be mad if it goes up in price. Where abouts are you planning on going?
I know what you mean about not being able to do anything it feels like its sges but not really that long. I want to get all the little details sorted but its way too early. However i have bought my dress (well mum bought it) and now booked my flowers and centre pieces. Getting quotes for a bus between ceremony and reception. The lowest ive had so far is about £170 for a 9 minute bus ride  so i recon ive not many things left to book, then it will be time for shoes and menu plans.
Goodness that turned into an essay!0 -
Haa haa not an essay at all!
Counting te days... me?... never lol My OH has an ap
This is so weird.... we are going to be going to Rome! Well we are going to visit Pompei, Mt Versouvious and Rome and are trying to decide where to have our base! Flights from Liverpool/Manchester are limited as well so we won't fly until Monday which is ok. We are just keeping an eye on prices for a good deal but it is really hard as there does not seem to be any 'deals' on for Italy so i think it is going to be a package. Neither of us have been but love the history and we are pretty obsessed by the Simon Scarrow books with Macro and Cato lol
£170 for a 9 minute bus ride... shocking!!!!! We would have had to do transport if we got 'barn 1' but barn 2 has a car park 10 minutes away and no parking on site so we are all going to walk in a group together, well that's the idea!
We bought the bridesmaids dresses and men's cravats all readythere was a sale on.... i couldn't help my self!!! (£15 for a £125 dress, bargain!)
We do have 20 children at the wedding so i am making activity bags for them. Colouring pencils, free printable colouring pages and word searches type type things etc. We don't really need them but it is a back up for the lawn games in case of rain and they will only cost £1.30 with the spare stuff from the invitations. I need to do something, i'm going stir crazy lol
We are growing our flowers on the allotment so i can't do that until next year either, although we are collecting jam jars to put them in for centre pieces! We are having the hog roast and vege sausages (knocked the buffet on the head for the veggies as it is an extra £200!) so we don't have a menu for me to faff around / freak out at lol
Oh we 'may' have cut £200 of the drinks bill... on Saturday we made some home brew wine.... 30 bottles worth of it fermenting in our dining room as we speak... We are going to try it a month before and if it is truly awful we will by the wine, if it's good then it's a bonus!
Ikea vouchers seem like a really good idea, you could use the cash gifts for a moving van!0
