What if I were to tell the customer that I haven't given their details to other companies and suppliers?
After you already told them you did? Do you think they'll believe you? Will the other companies and suppliers tell the truth if they are asked?
If it looks like you've tried to cover up what you've done you could make things worse for yourself.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

Seriously, stop feeding this guy!One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

I'm not lying, If you think I am don't reply anymore. From the replies I've gotten so far it looks like I'll need to get some real help.0

Indeed, if your story is true you should seek legal advice.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

OP, you're screwed.
You not only can be sued for libel/slander and/or defamation, you also broke the law by breaching DPA.
I suggest you get a damn good lawyer, as the person who you sent the email to has it in black and white that you did what you did.
It will also show on your computer. regardless of how you try to remove it.
You might find yourself paying this off for the rest of your life.0 -
I've already sent an email informing them that they're committing fraud and have also given their details to other companies and suppliers.
I've also warned them that if they carry on I will take the matter further. (Does anyone know how I would take the matter further?)
@giantmutantbroccoli - The price wasn't 0.00 but was incorrectly priced by the supplier.
You're bang out of order! I hope this customer sues you for defamation for what you are doing!
Take the matter further by.... changing your internal procedure to make sure you stop c0cking up. The customers doing nothing more than trying to grab himself a bargain, which is pretty much what this whole website is about.
I can't believe a so called business owner can behave in such a way and deem it as acceptable... in fact, more than deem it as acceptable, have the audacity to attack the customer.0 -
I know I could've handled it better and I wish I did.0

Stop feeding the troll!!!!!!!!!!!One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

It's not fraud. The most you can do is apologise that it was priced incorrectly and cancel the order.0
