I think I may be able to offer some positive advise here---
You state you spend an average £250.00 per week at the Co-op.
That's £13,000 a year.
Try Aldi.0 -

Has something been edited out of the first post?
There seems to be no clear description of exactly what happened.
And, much as I dislike people jumping on those with complaints, I think the OP might be exaggerating somewhat.
1) Who in their right mind would spend £250 a week at a co op, particularly at a 'convenience' type branch. You would be paying way over the odds.
2) Who goes shopping and tries to cash vouchers when they are so close to becoming a father? Dashing in for some forgotten essential, yes. Cashing a load of vouchers - that does not ring true.
How about a cool, calm, explanation of what happened, with clear timings (to the best of your recollection) and no exaggerations?
If you really have been discriminated against I would be the first to want to ensure that you were properly compensated (although more for the corollary aspect that the co op were punished and would presumably make strenuous efforts to ensure that their procedures were changed). And I do not agree that £40 is sufficient compensation for being humiliated in a crowded shop, particularly if the police were involved. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Nothing has been edited out of the first post. Everything mentioned was in fact true in terms of quickly going into the shops to redeem the vouchers for cash to getting back to the hospital straight away.
As I said, the vouchers were legitimate, I was expecting to be in the shop MAX 5 - 10 minutes as I didn't believe for one second I would of gone to any of the trouble I went through. Another 15 minutes to get back to the hospital.
The reason why I went out to get the redeem the vouchers because the baby was due in the next few hours and OH friend works for Shelfridges and can get a decent discount for us on clothes for the baby so once baby was due, I didn't want to go anywhere other than stay at the bedside with my love and the little one, so quickly popped out to get the cash to give it to my OH's friend.
I had £300 of UKASH vouchers were I planned on buying something online, however I decided that what I wanted wasn't important and could wait so I went and redeemed the vouchers back into cash.
I am going to phone CO-OP now and mention I am not happy with the offer of £40 vouchers, for what I've gone through.jacques_chirac wrote: »Last time it was DCFC79 who you claimed had it out for you - do you have a persecution complex?
