happy friday!!! Thats so great about your hubster and the notepad!!!! Have you ever read what he writes in there? Does he ever read it to you or is this something you are planning to do once debt free?

well - you mentioned about pushing yourself and making the effort so I applied for a new job! bit more money and a bit different but fingers crossed and we'll see what happens! It was just a punt!!! so ready to re-start my debt-busting now but i'm t minus 20 days grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!! the countdown is agonising!

Hiya C-R! Very best of luck with the new job possibility. I think it's really important not to settle and I see a lot of that here. I think a lot of companies take total advantage of that mindset so it's important not to fall into the trap! Being loyal to yourself first is wrongly deemed 'selfish' a lot of the time - take care of you first. It's important! And don't apologise for it either!


I don't read what he writes. I have a feeling that a lot of it is probably negative at the moment - he is having a hard time. My theory is that it will probably help him to get it out of his head and onto the paper. However, I also think he is likely seeing a few things from a skewed perspective and I might want to slap him if I read some of it! So, I'm leaving him to it!

T minus 5 but it's the least of my concerns today. Has anyone else seen the news story about the young giraffe they have killed today in Copenhagen? I am just gutted. Bit surprised at my own strength of feeling but I am sitting here with my heart on the floor and my anger level at the ceiling. How absolutely disgusting. Words fail me for once. Just devastated and so sad. What a beautiful animal he was.

did you read about the lions they killed in Longleat as well because there was 'tension' in the pack -the pack of lions!!!

if we're trying to save these animals why slaughter them?

i did read about it - and it made me sad - I cry at those adverts on tv for the bears though

OMG, C-R, no I didn't. I don't understand. Rehome them or something! For crying out loud. Urg. Just makes me so sick. I will never understand that as a 'solution'. Humans are responsible for the welfare of those animals once removed from the wild/bred in captivity. For the love of God, do right by them.....which doesn't mean slaughter them.


One little upside to my day is an additional Ebay sale which has slammed the cc into just double figures at $90. At this rate, it might even be gone before payday!

Thought an animal park in Yorkshire had offered it a home??


ETA - just had a google - what a shame:( I am not a fan of zoos - very rarely visit them even those with fantastic welfare and conservation set ups. I find them all too depressing. I am not a sentimental animal lover and I happily eat them but I hate to see them captive.

Well, I think it's safe to say I will be boycotting the borders of Denmark on a permanent basis. I have no need to set foot in their country as long as I live and they don't need a penny from me either. I have seen more of that story than I ever should have and truly regret googling it further. Sick, sick, SICK. Shame on them.

On a better note, Mr HOK3Y and I have enjoyed an evening entertaining a friend and her hubby. Roast chicken dinner followed by raspberry crumble. Yum, yum! Couple of things to wrap up to mail out tomorrow so just getting those in order and then I'm snuggling with hubster on the sofa to watch a movie. I always stay up late on Sundays as I hate the end of the weekend!

Well, hello Monday and T minus 4! Just $90 between me and cc freedom. It is set to be a good day in the office as an old colleague of mine is coming to work for us on a part time temp basis and I am so looking forward to having her on the team - even for a few months.
