Having a rather brilliant weekend moneywise - long may it continue! I bought an item this afternoon for £10 and have already sold it for £39.50 on ebay! Pretty darn happy with that......now if only I could run across 10 of those a day, every day!
Still, I have managed to slam the cc again and so it looks as if I should have it down into the $200s by this time next week - maybe even further! If I am reeeeaaallllly lucky, it will be paid off! But that truly will take a little Godly interference! This last stretch is proving really painful and annoying - I want it go sooooooooooo bad!
Hope all my fellow DFWs are having a productive weekend financially!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
Whoop! Took the credit card down to $521 and if I can get the payment in for another item tonight, I will be able to drop it well into the $400s!! Excellent news Hok3y! I'll bet you'll have that cc paid off in a flash now :j
I'm intrigued by your £10 buy? Was it a reduced item in a shop or second hand from charity shop? I was looking round the 99p store last week and was thinking to myself I bet there's loads of stuff in here could probably go for 10x the value on ebay. I really must set myself a little personal challenge for it.
Also in poundl@nd I bought a pair of gloves with fingertips that will work on smartphone screens. My niece said she saw them for sale somewhere before xmas going for £10! I looked them up on the bay for curiosity's sake but was disappointed to see they are selling for pennies on there too. Well, too little to go to any effort of selling them on myself anyway.Make £10 a day challenge Jan £231.630 -
Hi Camillia, it was an item I found at a flea market. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. You can never tell if it will work out so sometimes you have to take a risk.
I have 25 auctions running on Ebay at the moment and am hoping for some additional sales this week. I'd like to have the cc under $200 by the weekend and that is very possible - just gotta push!
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. I'll be glad to have survived January and to have put it behind me! All well on the financial busting side and just waiting on pennies hitting my account tomorrow so that I can give the cc another right hook. I have 31 items on Ebay, some ending this weekend but a lot on Buy It Now so hopefully there should be some extra funds in the next few days. If I can be free of the cc before Valentines Day, I will be ecstatic.
Interesting thing happened a couple of days ago.....I had messaged my bank to ask that no further charges be allowed on the card and that I would be closing it in the next week or two. They called my house!!! Spoke to hubby who isn't even on the card and he told them to speak to me. They are wondering why on earth I would want to close it......well, I could definitely tell them what I think!!! Anyway, they left a message for me to call them back. I think not. I won't waste my time and effort returning a hard sell call but I will put them right if they call back. Oh, and they have not closed the card to further charges as asked either. Fair warning for my fellow DFWs - your CCs might put up a right on the way down!!

I found it quite easy to cancel my M&S and Lloyds credit cards, thank goodness.
Hope you manage to get it all paid off by Valentines, that really would be amazing!
I am excited because I had an extra £200 left over from my wage this month (although it went on an early payment) and I've started posting in my own debt diary!LBM moment Nov 2013

Hiya BK - surprising how extra money all goes to the debts with a major smile isn't it?! I guess that's how you know you've had a serious attitude shift!
. Drop me the link for your diary and I will stop by and visit.
Sitting here this evening feeling like I've been thumped pretty hard. There is always someone worse off than yourself and today I read through another diary that puts things into sharp focus. Debts or no debts, savings or no savings, pension or no pension - makes no difference in the end as you are taking none of it with you. Do not forget to live. No matter what is going on in your life, do not forget that it is still your life and you only have one.....and you don't know when it will come to a close.
Very humbled this evening and not as remotely excited at paying off my cc as I was yesterday. Definitely had a perspective adjustment.
Much love to everyone traveling a dark road, no matter what it might be.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
