Hello BK  I will stop by your diary this evening and say hello!
Well a lovely end to the week and the end of the month......credit card stands at just £225 and my total debt has dropped into 4 figures for the first time in 17 years!!! Very, very happy lady!! Just gotta find a little bit more so I can kick that cc once and for all! Here's hoping EBay throws me some pennies this weekend.
That's amazing, well done!
I am hoping to get my debt total below £9k by the end of the month.
It's apparently free listing weekend on eBay this weekend but I'm not sure what to sell at the moment so I might miss it. I've got a bunch of stuff relisting though!LBM moment Nov 2013

Best of luck BK - I have 31 listings on Ebay right now and only 1 with a bid......some weeks are definitely better than others. It feels great to slam the debt though, doesn't it?!
On another note, I treated myself to a necklace from M&S a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it......but it just broke at my desk.......and it's a design flaw which means another one will do the same......so I have to take it back without a replacement.
On the flip side, this will mean at least an additional $26 off the cc!!!!!! Taking it back tonight which brings the cc down to $199!!!!!!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
Welcome, welcome to February! I can barely believe it is here already but happy to have gotten through January relatively unscathed. For the first time that I can remember, I logged onto my US bank today and saw that the balance in my bank account is higher than what I owe on the cc!!! I almost took a screenshot! Unfortunately, what is sitting in my bank account is allocated elsewhere but I would have loved to make that cc $0. It will happen soon but probably not soon enough.
Looking at pulling in a fair few pennies from Ebay this weekend so that by the time Sunday draws to a close, I hope to have the cc down either below $100 or darn close to it. So close that I can taste cc freedom!
Hope everyone else has a great start to the month and that the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
Serious anticipation on my part this evening....so far it looks as though I will be able to take at least $50 off my cc tomorrow! :jCredit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0

Hi there,
Thought I would drop bye and check out your diary, wow you have given me great inspiration to get rid of my debt demons....
I'm pleased to say I've found a new friend and send a huge hug! (( hug )) as a thankyou.. love pantherchick. Xx.0 -
Oh my! What a lovely surprise to see new friends! Hello plzhelpmesave! and pantherchick - lovely to have you drop by.
I am still waiting on the outcome of 5 auctions today so will have a final idea on pennies sometime this evening. I commend you for even attempting to read this behemoth of a diary, plzhelpme! It's a bit long! Hope you found something to help push you along.
Pantherchick, major hugs back to you too. More than happy to help.I firmly believe that the most important thing you need to have when fighting debt is the absolute belief that you can beat it. Believing in something allows it to manifest in your life......and I currently believe that I will be independently wealthy!
The thing with believing is that the belief itself will cause you to act in ways you wouldn't have before. For example, I have a decent-ish job right now that I really enjoy personally. If I wasn't focused on living comfortably in the near future, I could easily remain in this job for the next 20 years and earn an okay wage and struggle every time a large car bill appears or one of us needs dental work. But that won't happen. Because I believe in more, I am working on my degree and keeping my eyes open for the next opportunity which will advance me financially. Settling for mediocre isn't even crossing my mind. Does that make sense? If I didn't believe I could do it, I wouldn't even be trying and that is the key.
I am very much like you in that I have dropped a lot of sentiment that I had towards things. I have sold many things that belonged to passed relatives or were given to me. Stuff is just stuff and stuff never made anyone happy. Now being debt free........well, I think that's made many people ecstatic!!! Just a few short months and that will be me! It will, it will, it will! :j

Welcome to another Monday and the start of another week of debt busting. I didn't get to take $50 off my cc as the payments for my auctions went to my UK paypal rather than my US one - bummer! But at least I have extra pennies in the bank regardless. Hopefully I'll have more paid off it by the end of the week.
Staring at $194 is pretty hard to do - I just tend to think I should have the funds to pay it off NOW and patience has deserted me! I would so love to be done with it already but it will be gone regardless in 11 days when payday arrives. So I guess this is T minus 11!!! Might put that in my signature!
Hubby has been very busy looking for a better job and I have started the next year of my degree this weekend. We are definitely going to be moving forward in 2014.
Wishing all my fellow DFWs a fabulous Monday and some serious debt busting - best way to start a week!)

you are doing AH-MA-ZING-LY!!!!
Look at you down below the 10k mark - how does it feel? I bet it feels brilliant! I can't wait to be there alongside you on the final stretch! It all kicks off again at the end of this month!!!I am writing up some F&F letters with glee hoping to have a nice settlement to make on the 28th feb!
Your motivation always amazes me and your ability not to let the set-backs faze you!I am also looking at jobs - wondering if a few years of even harder slog are worth it for the dream - um, yes, I think it is!!!
Say it this Monday morning - you are a superstar!!
big hugs to you and the hubster
