Thanks Crimson! This has officially been the best financial week in recent history! Any extra pennies will be warmly welcomed and it has been completely unexpected. I have only been with them for 5 months but have worked my tail off to change some very old methods and drag them into the 21st century. I have had a blast in the process and truly love my job. I didn't think I wanted to stay in accounts but I will be sorry to leave when that time comes - which it will once I finish my degree. In the meantime, I'm just going to love every minute of it.
Anyway, I'll cross all my fingers and we shall see what happens. It might only be £100 but that will be £100 more than I had before!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
Howdy Friiiiiiiday! So lovely to see you and the weekend! What a week I have had - if you had told me this time last week that I would be able to clear over $4k from my debts in less than 7 days, I might have believed you (because I would have figured some HOK3Y determination was at play) but I'd have been very surprised indeed! I am thrilled to bits with where I am ending the week. :T Next week my hubby has 2 paydays so I'm going to finish up some Christmas shopping which I have already reigned in tight and let friends and family know we won't be buying a lot this year.
So today is set to be a great day purely because it's the weekend in a few hours! Wishing all my fellow DFWs lots of love and luck as another week comes to a close.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

You deserve to celebrate this weekend! I pray the roadkill gods are shining and you can use your finds for a treat!!! :grouphug::grouphug:

Morning C-R and thank you!
I've pretty much had my socks knocked off this week and I wish there was 3 more of the same coming!!
If it inspires you, that's brilliant although you are already quite a force to be reckoned with yourself!
I think we can both kick our debts into touch before the kids break for the summer. Definitely! I need to think of how I am going to celebrate when I can officially declare myself DF - hubby and I are going to have a bloody good night out somewhere!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

Too darn right, C-R!!! And I tell you what, I am NEVER walking this road again. Once I get to the end of it, I am heading off to the horizon and never looking back. There are much better things in my future and the only loan I'll ever deal with from here on is a mortgage and I'll be paying that off early too!
From here on, I refuse to play the banks' game - I am doing it my way because only I care about what is best for ME!
I am having an incredible roadkill month - I have found over £19 so far and none of that has been in paper! I hope to smash that in December and figure I should be able to with everyone being even more free with their pennies for Christmas.
Tomorrow will see me spend a few pennies as I am taking my beloved twin nephews out to the most amazing cafe in town that makes hot chocolate to absolutely die for. I don't like hot chocolate but I like theirs! It's sublime! The boys have never been before and I promised to take them - I am so looking forward to our date!
Hope everyone has a lovely start to their weekend and some nice things planned - some of the best things in this life cost us nothing but the time to enjoy them, which makes it time well spent. Time with my nephews most certainly falls into this category!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
Sounds wonderful HOK3Y. We will be having fish & chips today..such a treat and the joy of small things! In times gone by we would have simply eaten out in a cafe and not thought anything of it!
I like the phrase in your last post re never walking this particular road again..you and me both!!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hiya brizzle! Hope the fish and chips are scrumptious - I find that when we eat out now we make sure it is somewhere nice. If you only eat out as a treat, you lean towards something really delicious! We found a lovely place for fish and chips in the next town over and now only go there if we fancy them and can afford it. We don't just go anywhere whereas before we would have just gone to the nearest place and not cared. It's not a bad thing to care more about how you spend your money!
Yes it is definitely a major learning experience dragging yourself down this path, isn't it!? I am truly a different person these days with my attitude towards money. I look at it differently and I treat it differently - and all for the better! My life from here on is going to be very different too! Here's hoping we both get to the end of this road soon and can set off for sunnier destinations!
Had a blast with my nephews. One of them is staying with me for the rest of the afternoon too so I am thrilled about that. I am sitting here checking some w/r and he is playing on the Xbox.
