I wish the UK school system had the scope to add a basic financial class to the curriculum - I think it would save a lot of young adults from making bad decisions that then follow them into middle age and beyond!

I have had quite a lovely day. Found 7p in roadkill at the Co-Op (there is always money on the floor in there and it's in the poorest part of town - go figure) so that's gone in my sealed jar. Then I got a £2 coupon off my next shop of £20......so now I'm going to stop by there tomorrow and see what I can find that's marked down/on special to make that £2 even more of a deal!

Hope everyone else is having a productive Sunday. I have had a week off and can definitively state that I don't want to go to work in the morning!

Well done on clearing one of your debts! That's amazing!!! Sounds like you've had a really profitable weekend as well. At this rate you will easily beat me to the finish line before next September!!

I wish I could get the motivation to start ebaying again. I made £1000 last year doing it which went towards the wedding. I just can't seem to get fired up for it this time round.

Anyway, hope you sleep better tonight and here's to a brilliant debt busting week. Gotta dash xfactor is on. Sad or what!?!? Xxx

Hi wegle and thanks. I haven't got much left to EBay to be fair but I will continue to put on foot in front of the other until there's no more debt assigned to my name. I think my hatred of the debt might be stronger than my passion to be rid of it! We will both get out of this mess if we keep going forward. I signed up to the £10 a day challenge for September. I think it will be great to keep proper track of extra pennies I make and hopefully get a jump on my payment plan. I want to be free!

I know what you mean about the hatred. I think I hate myself more though for being so naive all those years ago. But onwards and upwards, what we do now is what counts.

I've signed up for the challenge to but only going to aim for £5, most of any extra I get will be through surveys and cashback, plus what change I find lying around. I did see on that thread though there is a website where you can exchange foreign coins. I counted up my euros and there's about £25 worth. So I'm going to get straight on the tomorrow. Xxxx

I need to look at that site as I have a lot of Euro and USD - I'd rather have sterling. Thanks for the tip! I have done well going to the charity shops and find items to sell for more on EBay. I just haven't had a lot of time to go round them lately. Guess I need to make some time this month!

Let me know how you get on with the coins and if it was worth it. I'll have to add up what I have here.

Back to work for me today but I have had a good morning in the office. Less than 3 hours to go and I'm heading for home. Lots to accomplish this evening with a paper due for my class and new ebay listings to get done. I am utterly obsessed with being debt free now - I want it so very badly. Hoping I can meet the £10 a day challenge and get rid of my bills faster than I thought. Must check out the cash4coins place too - it's all on the list!
