and if I can find a way to get rid of it quicker, then I will!

do american companies not do full and final settlement figures that could get rid quicker and save money?

I know it impacts on credit rating in the UK, but I guess your rating there doesn't really matter anymore..?

I might just go have another look then. I generally consider myself to be a numbers girl, I'm an engineer by trade, but it really did addle my mind when I read it.

Well done on the £1.41!! I've got loads of euro coins at home but I'm not sure the bank will change them up. Will have to collar a friend or family member next time they go on holiday to take them off my hands!

TTGU, the only unsecured debt I have left is a cc which is directly tied to our US current account - and I don't want to lose the current account or ruin my standing with the bank as they have been fabulous with us. I could probably have asked for the other line of credit to be shut down on 0% interest but having been through that stress one time before (and still suffering the effects to this day), I just decided to put my mind to getting it paid off - that's the one I only have about $230 left to go. That's no mean feat as it stood at $5000 just 3 months ago. The car loan is a fair cop - our car is just 2 years old and we love it. So, I'm just biting the bullet and paying all of this junk off as soon as is humanly possible!

Wegle, go for it - just read that thread a few times until it starts to make sense. The jargon is the worst. I won't say to ask me for help if you get stuck - I am the last person to ask but there are tons of smart people on that board who will help you. Best of luck to you!

Finding 21p in town this afternoon was certainly a happy moment so the sealed jar is a little heavier now. Sitting here working some magic with the matched bets and waiting on some results over the next few hours. Happy lady!

So today is set to be a NSD as I am not planning on leaving the house. Will still find at least 1p to put in my jar - my rule is that something has to go in everyday. Spending the morning working the matched bets and should be up over £100 by the end of today. My EBay auctions end in about 2 hours and look set to bring in about £50+. Hoping for a good result at the carboot sale tomorrow. It looks set to be a good money spinning weekend! Let's see if I can break £250 in extra cash by Sunday evening! :T

I have sat here this morning and read some of the stories and diaries of others. I feel blessed. Yes I have debt but my word I have come to realize that there are always people in worse positions. Just want to reach out and hug everyone who is struggling but trying to put one foot in front of the other. I wish the very best to each and every one of us. :kisses3:

My Ebay auctions have just come to an end and netted me £65 so I am mucho happy about that. I also found a couple of items that I can list to raise a few more pennies too. At this rate, we'll have the most uncluttered home on the planet! ;)

I had a small splurge this week and bought 'The Secret' - I have been meaning to read it for a while as I fully believe in the power of positive energy. Looking forward to getting stuck into it and learning to lean to the brighter side of my disposition!

REALLY REALLY EXCITED!!!!!! Some money came into my account a couple of days early and I have paid off one of my accounts in full!!!! So so happy!!!! Doing a little jig round the table! Just got to watch online for it hitting the debtors account in the US (and they have a bank holiday on Monday so that adds to the delay) and then I can close that sucker and never look back! Also made my car payment which brings that balance down too. Happy, happy day! Will update with current balance of debt once the payments hit the accounts and I know exact remaining balance on the car. :D Could not possibly smile more! :D

A good day today. Ended with £65 from Ebay, £115 up from MB, 10p in my sealed jar (every penny helps!), and I even got to set up the final payment on my US line of credit. That all feels pretty good! Completed a few surveys also which will all add up as well. Tomorrow looks set to net me some more pennies through MB and here's hoping the weather stays nice for the carboot sale in the morning. Wishing everyone a profitable weekend and slightly less debt at the end of it! :)

Well, after the worst night of sleep(??) in a long time, the carboot sale is not happening this morning. I am rarely unable to get warm in bed - hubby says I am like a furnace, but last night I couldn't get or stay warm to save my life. I didn't get a lot of shut eye and am just shattered this morning.

    Oh well.

Still should be finishing the weekend £190 better off, have filled in a few surveys to bump up the cash, and I have some extra things to list on Ebay. My sister is also going to help me list a body protector on one of the horsey websites so that should net me a little extra too. Might just raid through all our drawers and dig up all the extra electronics. I know I have a camera and a phone at the least. I can take these down to CEX and see what I can get for them. Hmmmmm, where to look!
