Thanks silly! It is all going to help me with a £400 expense I have coming up next week that I am less than pleased about! Long and very frustrating story but it wasn't expected and so all the extra pennies are helping me to absorb it without blowing my budget and debt busting goals!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0

Great result on the bay of e - have thought about the matched betting a few times myself - just need to apply the brain power to itCC debt Aug 2018 £50.2K

Thanks scotdebs! X The matched bets took some courage and clarity of thought for sure, but it is definitely possible to turn a decent profit. You just need to understand what you are doing and have some money to float. Best of luck wrapping your head around it!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0

Good morning sunshine!! Well it's a blustery, rainy day here in North Yorkshire and so the walk to the post office will be interesting! I have a day off work today (yay!) and so I can take care of a few things that need my attention. I am also planning on stopping by the secondhand book shop with some books to see if I can squeeze some extra pennies out of the large junk pile in the spare room. Couple of things to list on EBay also - I am still battling along!
Tomorrow is payday which means time for me to pay the mid month bills and get back to the matched betting which I have actually really missed this last couple of weeks. As I needed our money to, oh I don't know, pay the rent and stuff, I wasn't able to float anything to make more. But as of tomorrow, I certainly can! I have a chunk of cash earmarked for the US bills but I'm going to float it and increase it as much as I possibly can instead! Then I'll transfer it at the end of week and slam as much as I can off the cc. It will definitely drop under $9k. I would love to do well enough to drop the total debt under $20k but that's a tough ask......but if I don't try then I already know what the result will be so I'm going to give it my best shot!
Here's hoping for a profitable Monday for all and maybe breaking the £200 barrier on the September challenge!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
I used to enjoy reading the Daily Mail online occasionally. Not that they seem to report on much news anymore - it's all about 'celebs'. This morning I almost logged on and then a little voice in my head stopped me for a chat. I don't want to read this rubbish. To be fair, all it does is frustrate me. The majority of it is people with more money than sense (who don't appear to have done anything worthy of their finances) behaving badly. Do I need to hear about Jordan's latest wedding? Or Rooney's 5star vacatation? Do I care who has bought the latest Aston Martin? Well, it's not that I care so much as that it makes me feel frustrated and that's why I think it's to be avoided. I don't take anything positive from it - I don't feel motivated by these stories. I feel annoyed that some of these people seem to have money falling at their feet for what? Making an *rse of themselves on reality tv?? I feel jealous sometimes that I don't find myself with the ability to go out and buy a lovely house without all the planning, stress, and fear of being turned down for a mortgage.
Not sure I'm putting this across properly. I am not a negative person. For me, it is important to identify where negative feelings creep into my conscious and this is one of those activities that is not nurturing my positivity. So I'm not doing it anymore. I cannot and should not compare myself to these people. I have little respect for most of them. They do not matter. I DO. My situation does. And I am doing a fantastic job with the cards life has dealt to me. I am proud of myself. I am amazing. I will prevail.
Take a look around you with a clear mind and think about what isn't good for your mental outlook - you might surprise yourself! We call it the Daily Fail in our house! Biggest pile of tosh out there! I find it so bigoted and intolerant, and it just infuriates me!!!
I know what you mean about the "celebrities" that are featured, not just in the DM, but all of our media. If someone has a true talent I can appreciate that and look up to them, but some one who just got their waps out on telly for 10 mins and then all of a sudden has this plush lifestyle... well screw em! They might have the latest car, handbag etc etc. But they're not happy. Jordan for example, 3 (or is it 4) marriages before your 40, private life splattered all over the papers. That wouldn't make me feel happy. In fact it would make me feel like S*@t!!! I may not have all the latest and greatest of everything but I have a lovely husband, and loving family and fantastic friends! :T And I bet the same goes for you too!0 -
Amen wegle! 'Daily Fail'!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!! Love it!!
I am with you all the way! These people are not quality people - and that is what matters. You have to surround yourself with people who have qualities you admire, that you want to have in yourself.......and seeing as I don't want double-digit marriages (2 is enough!) and pics of myself looking, well, like an absolute imbecile and lady of the night, I think I'd rather not hang out with Jordan anytime between now and when hell freezes over. I see no point in checking the weather forecast for potential signs of that either.....:D So why I would want to even read about her is beyond my comprehension!
I am feeling mucho happy this morning as I checked the bank and have been paid a day early! So I have already set up some matched bets and should be a little better off by the end of the day! Yay! I have also taken care of some mid month bills and will deal with the rest of the ankle biting paperwork after lunch. Off to package up some EBay sales to post this afternoon!
