Well hello Friday! One last workday and then I am off for 4 whole days - yeehaw! Payday is Tuesday and it cannot come soon enough for me. I have major plans that day! It will be lovely, lovely to clear the rest of the monthly bills but it will be better still to increase my surplus with some matched bets and figure out just how much I then have to pay off the debt. This time next week, I will be better off, no matter how you slice it.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0

You know, it seems that every office has a battle-axe of a woman who seems to think her opinion counts about everyone else's and doesn't seem to understand there is a fine line between assertive and obnoxious. We have one. I'm glad she works down the other end of the office. But she's testing my last nerve at the moment. I caught her yesterday utterly misquoting me to one of MY staff members and I couldn't jump on her fast enough. Urg. Keeping an eye on her today because it seems she is in the mood for trouble. Women can be such a pain in the tush! Thank God for the great girls on my team who I truly love working with.
Meanwhile, I am chomping at the bit for the day to be over so I can start the long weekend, get my Ebay auctions ending, hit the carboot sale on Sunday, await payday on Tuesday, and planplanPLAN more debt busting. I will be debt free this time next year..........oh yes I will!!!!! I mean, debt free by Christmas would be awesome but that would likely require standing on a street corner........ I'll settle for next year!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

Working with women can be a nightmare. I'm really lucky as I'm only 1 of 2 women in my whole department. However that has it's problems too......
Debt free by Christmas would be amazing! Standing on a street corner could be tempting! Not sure the hubby would approve though! :rotfl:
Glad you had a great night with your friend, you definitely deserved it, and it sounds like it's really buoyed you up to get back into debt busting. We all have to have a little treat now and again. If anything it serves to remind us of what life will be like in the future when we will have the choice to spend our money on what we want to do rather than only having to pay the debt man!0 -
Hiya wegle, you know it's a longish story but when she walked into our home last night she got a little teary. When I left Germany and my job with her to move back to England, I did not have a job lined up and she knew what my ex had done to me financially. She asked me then if I was afraid and I said no, that everything would work out, that I would achieve everything I wanted.
So knowing what she does about the economic climate and that I have switched jobs a few times (for better ones) she took one look at our lovely apartment that is within our means and got a little happy teary. She said, 'You came here with nothing and look what you have done!' I laughed and pointed out that I still have nothing!!!! She told me off and said I was inspirational. I love her.
It is true, I have achieved a lot but I have always believed it would be okay. That is so important. You have to believe. Right now I believe I will be debt free and saving for a house as of next year!!!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
hey hok3y and wegle!!
I've suggested putting my OH on the street corner for a job or two to get our debts down but strangely enough he's not up for it!!! (no put intended!!!) :rotfl:
Good luck with your planning days this weekend Hok3y -that's what i'm spending today doing as well! Working on my spreadsheet, writing things in my 'home management notebook'and so on - wouldn't it be great if simply staring at the numbers made then decrease!!!!!
As we've got the same debt-free date and the same debt I'm using you as my motivation!!! No pressure!!! :rotfl:
but your motivation is sky-high! keep it up - i'm really loving your diary!

ROFL!!! Lol, C-R! I remember watching a documentary on a wife and mother in the US who was crippled with debt so she taught herself to pole dance, took a job in a club with her hubby's agreement, and paid off their debts in months - then promptly quit the job. Now THAT is some serious motivaton in motion.......I am not that comfortable with me! Didn't stop me thinking she was amazing!
I love playing with my numbers - did you have a good, productive debt smashing day?? Very humbled that you're finding some motivation here but you and wegle and crimson among others have done the same for me just following along and keeping me company. We are on a mission TOGETHER!!! The weather has taken a dip in temp and I just fancied something hot and rib sticking. Raided the freezer and found some minced lamp. Cooked it up with some seasoning and gravy. Poured the whole lot over mashed potatoe.....happy HOK3Y!!!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0

Hey Hok3y! I did have a productive day! I usually do a 3-monthly basic store-cupboard and cleaning/toiletries shop and was calculating the cost to bulk up and do a twice-a year shop instead so was looking back over old t*sco receipts to see how much i'd bought and how much I've got left!!! Wow! what an exciting day!!!!!!! :rotfl: Needless to say - it would be cheaper - when my staples are on offer!!!
I've heard pole dancing is very good for toning as well so she came away debt free and looking fiiiine probably!! :rotfl: well - i do need to lose some weight . . . . haha! nope - not at that point yet!
Yes - motivation is great and seeing your steps as well as you go. I like cheering everyone along! It would be a cold, lonely and depressing road If i was doing this alone! :grouphug:
hope you have a good evening - i'm enjoying listening to the rain - autumn really is here!

Lol! Yes I love staples too.....there's something so satisfying about connecting paperwork together and feeling organized!
. Glad you have had a useful day. This will be me tomorrow - mug of tea, glasses perched on end of nose, s/s open, eye on EBay auctions, tweaking numbers, and completing surveys. Apparently it's going to rain for, well, England here over the weekend with high winds too so our carboot plans may be out of the window temporarily......oh well, there's always next week!
I have a feeling the next few days are going to be profitable......sharing the vibes with you C-R!
