Customer wise quiet thankfully as I didnt have chance to stand still at all. But as I am actually superwoman in disguise I got the stocktake, banking, wage admin, and rotas done while prepping food ready for the morning, and I only left 30 minutes late after finishing off the end of week bookwork.
I want to say never again....but chances are I'll be lone working again on Friday so will be doing lots of prep tomorrow while I'm not alone. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Is the disguise another superpower?scubaangel wrote: »I got the stocktake, banking, wage admin, and rotas done while prepping food ready for the morning, and I only left 30 minutes late after finishing off the end of week bookwork.

Yes, that would be wise. Given that you know it's coming, and at least you can do some preparation for it. Are fridays busy?
I ended up in the North West today. It was raining somewhat... :rotfl:"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

It's impossible to say - last week was, the week before wasn't, but then the weather seems to have the biggest effect on it.
I think I'm going to prioritise getting decorations on to the Christmas tree the store brought for me tomorrow. I mean I could tidy up the office, or any number of other things but I have a very boring looking plastic tree taking up space in the corner and I want to make it pretty since they seemed not to appreciate the santa hat on the cackling witch I've had draped over my signage for the last few weeks.
It rained for less than an hour in my bit of the NW not that when it wasn't raining the weather was much better. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Yeah, yeah, you like Christmas, you like decorating Christmas trees - don't be blaming work...scubaangel wrote: »It rained for less than an hour in my bit of the NW not that when it wasn't raining the weather was much better.
It was sunny here. It was misty on the tops (i.e. inside a cloud, so it's expected to be wet...). It was raining (on and off) from about Ingleton onwards.
Lancaster was not raining - but busy, even at 3pm. They seem to be completely re-doing the road network...
I ended up at the coast - more my scene... :rotfl:"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I don't dislike the concept of Christmas, by the time it happens I'll be utterly sick of it.
They're always redoing the roads in Lancaster, not entirely sure they understand what they are, what they're for or why there need to be there yet.
I'm only slightly jealous about that, been too long since I got over to the coast, might attempt to get across to Formby/Southport/Blackpool if I ever get another day off. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Yes, and in retail there is always the Christmas CD which only has 10 songs on it, and which *must* be played - on repeat - throughout December. So by December 24th, snot is coming out your ears, wax out your nose, and blood out of your eyes... :rotfl:
Some places do have a ceremonial "burning of the CD"...scubaangel wrote: »They're always redoing the roads in Lancaster, not entirely sure they understand what they are, what they're for or why there need to be there yet.
I must admit, they seemed in reasonable nick. The probably won't be once they've been dug up. However the diversion did lead me by a comedy sign. "Do not attempt to enter this building when the fire alarm is sounding."
They must have had problems in the past... :eek:scubaangel wrote: »I'm only slightly jealous about that, been too long since I got over to the coast, might attempt to get across to Formby/Southport/Blackpool if I ever get another day off.
I was getting cabin fever, so I just drove. I've been Northumberland/Yorkshire/South Haggistan, so I've been looking at The West recently."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

They are updating the victorian sewage network in Lancaster at the minute, that is why the roads are dug up, to say it is hell at the moment is an understatement. It can take 2 hours to get through the city:eek:, it's not even worth trying to get in.0

That would be the network that was put in 2 centuries ago?
They got their money out of that one...pennywisepoundstupid wrote: »that is why the roads are dug up, to say it is hell at the moment is an understatement.
Ah right - I didn't know that. I arrived and thought "Even Newcastle doesn't start to become grim until half three", so decided to chance it. Stop-start traffic at 3pm. :eek:pennywisepoundstupid wrote: »It can take 2 hours to get through the city:eek:, it's not even worth trying to get in.
It didn't take me that long, but longer than I expected for that time in the afternoon. Seems like a reasonably nice place.
Apart from the roads that is... :rotfl:"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

It's a beautiful city, just not so wonderful at quarter to nine in the morning when your trying to get to work and your gridlocked.0

I have to admit my visits to Lancaster were to friends at University but I remember that there always seemed to be traffic jams and road works when I was in the car.
No real progress on anything today, one mystery shop done, and mostly written up, several hours at work survived.
Hotels are booked for the work trips this week, I only need a couple more nights away to have earned a free night from a hotel booking site loyalty scheme. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
