Well if pie sales are buying the team no wonder. They're stuck in the 'circling the drain' system now, bad results and dull games mean fewer supporters getting off the sofa every week, fewer supporters there mean fewer pies sold - although it won't be long until people are throwing pies at the team in an attempt to check if they're alive or not.

Nope tried, can't do it, and whats really annoying is that I can't see Dad's complete bank details to just copy them over as part of the account number is starred out.

The easiest thing to do is to get his details again. There's fudgery you can do with altering schedules and amounts, but it's probably not worth it.

It's on a whatsthecost snowball, but it needs fully updating which I'll do mid week when the overpayment has cleared.

Yep - give you a boost mid-week when the drains aren't working again...

Interesting email from a friend down south today about a job where she works and an instruction to call them tomorrow as she's already been telling them how amazing I'd be for it (yeah she's lying and just wants to get the old drinking triumvirate back together).

What's the job? Where's the job? Is it worth going for it for you?

Well you know what they say about gift horses. But you should probably be rolling up your sleeve for this one...

  • It's a hospitality role in a fairly niche conference centre down south. The salary they're advertising it at is better than my current salary, so as long as I could find somewhere to live which wasn't too extortionate and carry on being semi sensible with money I should be able to live fairly well.

I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if I think it's worth sending an application in after I've spoken to them. I know my friend loves working for them so I could theoretically live near where I used to as she commutes from the same village daily.

Find out from your friend if where she lives isn't too extortionate.

The problem with living where you used to is that you couldn't afford to live there. So not very close would be a better option.

I'd imagine temptation would be quite a frequent visitor too, so you'd have to factor that into account.

True, but that was on a much smaller salary, on the one offered for the job I actually could afford to live and still repay the credit cards. Of course temptation would be a frequent visitor but it's be much cheaper to pop to the local pub for the night if I lived there than it is for me to drive/train/coach down for a weekend and have to take time off work to do so.

The area that the job is based in is similar price wise to where I used to live, but I guess if I went for it I'd likely do what I did last time I moved south and lodge for a while before I move in to my own place, give me time to explore the new area more throughly as its somewhere I didn't go to with my world then being very Camberley/Aldershot centred thanks to the military connections.

That of course all assumes they even want to give me a face to face interview never mind get the job!

Just take into consideration that a weekend away can happen only once a week, whereas a night in the pub can happen 7 times a week...

Well the techniques of working out your living expenses etc are applicable no matter where you want to work, so if you make the process generic, you can use it time and again.

Because, let's face it, you don't seem happy working where you are now. How did meeting with ex-boss go?

True, but neither of the other two are likely/able to spend 7 nights a week in the pub because of their jobs, one with a husband who may well object to me stealing his wife so often, and the other with a worrying gym obsession - and if I was doing that job I wouldn't be either as it would include evening/late shifts.

Anyway, tried to call them today to see if I could get a bit more information about the role but kept getting the answer phone so will try again tomorrow. I've downloaded the full job and person specs and have started drafting a cover letter, my CV will need a going over to highlight things relevant to the role normally completely irrelevant to a job (very niche employer so don't want to say too much).

In other fun stuff I've done a mystery shop today, so have officially started next summers bikini shopping. That shop is written up and submitted.

Targets hit on swagbucks for the day, so am watching the SBTV section to bump up my totals as every sb helps towards that next £100 redemption.

Got reward radio running on instagc, apparently they're likely to be announcing details of their holiday offers tomorrow so will hold off on deciding about redemptions there until I see what they are this year - last years were discounts on rewards if you met certain criteria up to a max of 10% which was worth while so hopefully similar this year too.

Also had just under £50 landed in my paypal from Field Agent, so that's been withdrawn to my bank account ready to go on to a credit card - although I've had a statement through today so need to check up on all of those to make sure I'm allocating my pennies appropriately.

Ooh, you are so literal... :p

The point was that with you being so conveniently placed, you'd be available more frequently, and it would be a death of a thousand cuts rather a big "weekend every couple of months" kind of deal.

    :p:p

Nah the woman who is managing recruiting works across two sites so she'll have been at the other site at which she doesn't have a direct line.

Not planning to wear the 'kini until likely just after Easter when am hoping to get out to the apartment for a week or so.

Day off, will find out what's been going on there when I arrive tomorrow.
