I've always had big legs, I guess a combination of horse riding and swimming alot as a kid added to my family predisposition to big bums and legs.

I've always had small legs, and the horse riding didn't really change that. Did make the top half trim, and gave me the curious ability to fall six foot at speed (often close to head first) and not injure myself...

As for covering them yup, I just don't think that short skirts are flattering on me mainly because thanks to aforementioned large bum and legs even mid length skirts look even shorter so I wind up looking short and dumpy (comment made by a friend who didnt believe me until I tried on a shortish skirt while we were out shopping).

I think we're using the same words to mean different things. When you say "covering them" - I think:

    When I say "don't hide them" - I think:

Yup, and I'll be able to pay off another decent chunk when I get my first salary from the money earned from the temp job.

How long have you been working there now? Don't forget a deposit though.

I've been there three months or so, a deposit can be saved from the first couple of months salary. I don't know the area that the job is based in so won't be looking to move out of Dad's immediately as I'll want to spend some time getting to know which are the nicer areas to live in first.

Good idea - that's what colleagues are for. Sometimes even a single street can be "wrong". I have had the conversation:

    What about X?

    Hmm, maybe not...

Exactly plus ideally I want to be between where I'm working and where I live now so limits me to a few bigger villages or some really remote cottages (which are gorgeous locations but a nightmare in bad weather).

    Why?

Well for me, there's also the question of internet access. It tends to be poor in remote areas (Though FTTC should help with that).

Your car shouldn't be that bad in snow - or were you thinking of some other kind of weather?

The car is fine but when I say remote I mean roads closed in snow as the snow plough can't get up them, or virtually impossible to drive over in the rain as they're high on the moors with no street lighting.

I'd want to stay between here and there because I at least have some knowledge of the areas and it's fairly easy to come back in to my current town to see friends.

Ironically, the exact opposite is a problem here. As soon as the first flakes of snow fall, the entire area goes into gridlock. We're talking journeys that take 40 minutes suddenly taking 5 hours. The problem being too close to civilisation and not remoteness.

Go the back roads and apart from them not being swept, all is clear. It's the only way to get back home in any reasonable semblance of a normal time.

That's fair enough, though if you avoid your remote cottages and find places with public transport, you'll be able to have a bevy or two and be able to get back home.

Nah am more likely to just stay at a parents house after a drink anywhere locally.

So if every time you socialise you'll be staying at a parents' house - why does it matter how close you'll be living? Surely it only matters that your house is somewhere in-between where you are now and work?

I think its more the feeling of security being near where I grew up, rather than being two or three council districts away. Silly maybe but I'll do my research properly when I'm in a position to think about my own home again.

Anyway tonight I'm mostly drinking pink wine, watching Pirates of the Caribbean and playing Chomping Shark with my friend Emma from uni while our other friend usually known as Spanky sits and complains we're being children. :D
