I'm not surprised you're sleeping during the day...2 am...

They normally aren't for me. But a few pints of Guinness and a few glasses of Monopole and an unnamed red the night before, and I felt pretty good the morning after.

This evening has been about making plans to spend a night in Birmingham without spending any money until it's confirmed as the friend I'm planning to go see is notoriously flakey, and the weekend before Christmas is not the best time for travelling from opposite ends of the country. And its Birmingham. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Is this "that" friend?scubaangel wrote: »and the weekend before Christmas is not the best time for travelling from opposite ends of the country.
Ermm...no...
Especially if it snows.scubaangel wrote: »And its Birmingham.
Nothing wrong with Birmingham. I know many amusing accents from there..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Nope tis another not female friend (one day I'll have female friends honest), who I dated erm 8 ish years ago.
The snow aspect is a concern - more so for him as he plans to drive from somewhere near Winchester, I've just booked train tickets, £20 return, which I don't mind losing if the weathers too rubbish to risk travelling.
I lived near Walsall for almost 3 years as a child, I still have nightmares.
Once again been to the pub for the quiz, we won, again, and won the biscuits for getting the most right in the picture quiz (this week was December birthdays), so free night out again next week for the big Christmas Quiz, need to take my spare pennies for tickets for the snowball too as it's up to £400 and the CQ week has a really easy question (although should my ticket win I'd be interested to see the reaction of the other team members since I buy my own and theirs are bought as part of the 'team', every week it's I've got our three but if you want one go get it......)
We also went up to the local Indian Restaurant for a meal before hand, took the landlady and her husband with us so when we were almost 45 mins late we'd not missed the start of the quiz. The slightly drunk landlady however struggled with the reading of the quiz slightly which was muchly amusing. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I can hardly point the finger. Outside of work I have few male friends.scubaangel wrote: »who I dated erm 8 ish years ago.
So you're now aiming for female friends whom you dated 8 years ago?

That's so far south, it's probably summer there...scubaangel wrote: »I've just booked train tickets, £20 return, which I don't mind losing if the weathers too rubbish to risk travelling.
Train will be fine. Unless it's the wrong kind of snow.scubaangel wrote: »I lived near Walsall for almost 3 years as a child, I still have nightmares.

That's a *really* strange "team" dynamic going on there. Maybe you should look around and see what other teams are on offer. Mum's not feeling great so we skipped tonights quiz, which is quite a relief really as after several gluhweins I'm not sure my brain could cope with being wrestled in to answering questions.
Went to the Manchester Christmas market this evening with my Dad and sister, was left in the bar fairly early as apparently I wasn't displaying appropriate festive emotions. So I kept getting my gluhwein topped up while trying to work out what appropriate festive emtions are.
Had a generally frustrating week - was offered two different month long temp jobs for January but had to turn them down because of the holiday. I've a feeling it'll mean I get another JSA sanction. Good job I'm used to living on nothing really.
Need to go in to town tomorrow to finish off my chistmas shopping but still have no idea what to get for the people I've not finished shopping for. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I'm sure you give some of your best answers when under the influence.
Not the most accurate - but best nevertheless... :rotfl:scubaangel wrote: »Went to the Manchester Christmas market this evening with my Dad and sister,
What's the market like? I went to the Edinburgh one - but that was a little disappointing.scubaangel wrote: »was left in the bar fairly early as apparently I wasn't displaying appropriate festive emotions. Well that depends what you're normally like about the whole concept of Christmas. If you're normally buoyant but not working is getting you down then :grouphug:
I would have been parked in the bar from the off.scubaangel wrote: »Had a generally frustrating week - was offered two different month long temp jobs for January but had to turn them down because of the holiday.
That's a PITA. But typical. There will be other stuff along.scubaangel wrote: »I've a feeling it'll mean I get another JSA sanction. Good job I'm used to living on nothing really.

Lumps of coal. Small and practicable...

Have you seen the cost of coal?
I don't do festive. My sister wants us all to buy in to the happy cheery peace and joy stuff. Me I want to see my friends and family and avoid crowds of "other people" since I on the whole dislike people. So I was entirely myself. Frankly when there are other people around the bar is the safest place for me as well.
It was ok, think I preferred it when it was all in one place in front of the town hall as wandering around the other areas it was just repetitive rows of the same stalls. I expect Birmingham will be the same on Sunday so hopefully there will be considerably more alcohol to soothe me.It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Did I mention the "cheap" word?

Well crowds are not the best place to meet "other people".scubaangel wrote: »So I was entirely myself. Frankly when there are other people around the bar is the safest place for me as well.

yes, I found the same at Edinburgh. Just the same stalls repeated about 3-4 times.scubaangel wrote: »I expect Birmingham will be the same on Sunday so hopefully there will be considerably more alcohol to soothe me.
Well I expect a full "Christmas Market" report...

I drank alot. Tis the extent of the Christmas Market report you'll be getting. Mainly because I barely remember the market at all (I swear I didn't drink that much - although I do recall sitting down with my friend with a bottle of sambucca each).
Christmas was weird. Nana has had a bad few days, she spent most of the day itself sleeping, but woke up as Mum was getting the last bits of dinner out of the oven so we ate in her room with her, gave her gifts from us, were given ours by which time she was falling asleep again and didn't really wake up until this morning.
This evening shes had another episode with her heart while I was sitting with her to give my Mum and step Dad chance to go out for a couple of hours. Thankfully it was getting bad as they got home so I didn't have to phone them to get them back early as she was asking to see Mum.
Beyond that right now I have no plans, no ideas and have done !!!!!! all towards money making/money saving/job seeking. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
