Hi, I accidentally reserved 2 in the Chippenham store rather than one last night, have just picked up one and cancelled the other one so there is one left there at the moment.

Great bargain, thank you OP, I have been thinking about getting one of these for ages at £25 am happy to give it a go.

A lot of steam mops come with that, it is residual from testing in the factory. The instructions may well mention this.
I called customer services and they said the same thing but i noticed there is no pad in the box either

I would take it back and change it for another if it isn't too much hassle, I have no problem with second hand items but if I am buying it brand new then I expect it to be brand new!
I had one reserved anyway so they extended the reservation date to a time that i can get in and swap them

Thanks op, picked mine up and my laminate and tiled floors look lovely after just 1 go, much better than the mop and bucket ever did.

Does anyone know if you could add lemon juice to the water just for a nice smell?

We have clip & lock type flooring with real wood veneer. Although it has a thin coat of weak varnish on top (was labelled 'varnish' but disappointingly doesn't appear to give much protection) I wouldn't feel confident using anything too wet on it as I'd worry about it seeping into the wood, especially at the edges, and making it swell/warp. I've never used one of these steam mops before. Am I right in thinking it wouldn't be suitable for this type of flooring?

Have still reserved one anyway, for other floors at home, so thanks OP and everyone else who posted! :)[/QUOte

I have a different steam mop but got one of these for my Mum as they are fantattic. The trick is to leave it to heat up for 30 seconds before turning the steam on. The steam dries almost instantly due to high heat. I use mine all the time on wooden floor and have had no problems.
