nope, unless I am being really thick the handle is literally a handle. You switch the thing on, leave it to heat for less that 1 min and the steam starts rising from it whilst upright, then you apply slight pressure to the top of the pad with your foot to let you angle it/push it and away you go, pull backwards and forwards and it 'cleans' the floor. In my case makes it very wet and streaky! nothing to let me control the steam release.0 -
I looked on the vax site for you. http://support.vax.co.uk/steam-cleaners/s88-cx4-b-a-steamernope, unless I am being really thick the handle is literally a handle. it says it has a trigger.
problems-- residue on floor--- is the floor wetter than expected?
answer
HTHRemove the cloth from the machine and wring out or replace with a dry one
A coral pad will leave the floor drier than a microfibre pad
It is not always necessary to hold the trigger down constantly when using the machine. If you find the floor is getting over wet, try releasing the trigger especially when completing several passes over the same area
the trigger for the steam is number 8. also from vax web site

Ahhh, sorry, just checked this out and I have this one http://www.vax.co.uk/white-stick-steam-cleaner
I don't know if I can return it because it's rubbish?!0 -
Seems this deal has ended? Reserved a mop at the Hayes branch and it was the steamworks one so refused it :-( anyone else still managing to pick them up?0
-
I also tried this in Hounslow but was given the steamworks version.
Has anyone had any luck here or nearby?0 -
This offer (or rather, replacement item) was first reported in August so I should think you'd be extraordinarily fortunate if it was still available. anywhere.0
