Neighbour parked on my drive - any advice?

You could get in touch with your local councillor(s) - I've always found mine very helpful. At the very least, they will tell you who to contact or they could take things up on your behalf. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

Put a gate up and give number 1 a key or put fold down bollards to make parking difficult for number 3.
Would a big sign stating 'garage in use 24/7 do not park here' work?0 -
OK here's my house:

I live in No2. The care home is No3. Access to the main road is to the right of No5. Blue boxes are people's garages. As you can see, the care home already has three parking spaces, but it seems that's not enough. The red crosses are where the care home staff park if their drive is full.
Each house owns all the way up to the fence at the bottom of the picture, but everyone else has rights to drive over the others' land to get to their house.
(No1 has gates at the bottom right of his property, so I leave that spot clear at all times.)
Hope that makes sense. My Photoshop skills are pretty rubbish
So could you not put a chain from the boundary between 2 and 3, to the fence on the other side of the road? Then both you and number 1 have a key. Then hang a sign on the chain saying 'Strictly No Parking, Drive in Constant Use'.
Then 4 and 5 could also do the same with their drives.0 -

The difficulty with a chain across the drive is that according to the deeds everyone has a right to drive over everyone else's land. Nos 1, 2 and 3 have the right to drive over my land (No2) up to the gates with No1 and then reverse back if they wish. Yes, it would be totally pointless, but they still have that right. I've no doubt the care home would exercise that right just to be difficult!
The care home could also then put a chain across between them and No4 and give me a key, leading to a ridiculous situation where I have to unlock several chains just to get home each night.
I'm going to order some big signs and go from there. I guess it's safety in numbers so if each of the other 4 houses do it, I can't be the sole recipient of the payback. They're not very nice people to be honest, so I'll probably arrive home to find smashed windows or similar...
Getting in touch with my local councillor is also a very good idea. Between him/her and the Care Quality Commission we might make progress. Will discuss with the neighbours and let you know how we get on.
THANK YOU again to everyone who's helped today

^^^ This.
If you chain or bollard the right (in the photo) edge of your property then the only person you have to let in & out is the owner of No1. Give them a key.
4 and 5 can chain across the ends of theirs without obstructing the track at all.
It appears that what they're trying to do is avoid blocking each other in and sod the rest of you. By chaining as above, they'll suffer as much as you guys if they continue to park down the lane and also be breaching the agreement in the deeds to allow access. That can then be enforced through the courts or the council planning dept.0 -

Double check the deeds - usually such clauses specify "for access". If they have no need to enter your property for access to somewhere they're entitled to be then the deeds won't normally give them carte blanche authority to do so.0 -

You're spot on, that's exactly what they're doing. Making life easier for themselves and sod everyone else.
What a lovely caring attitude from a staff of "carers". Makes me feel sorry for the poor residents and the standard of care they must be receiving...0 -

I will most definitely read them again just to be sure. Thanks for the help

Have you tried talking with the manager as the staff are probably under paid, over worked and have lame shifts to deal with.
Having a sit down with the boss may lead somewhere.0 -
As stated before, put up signs saying "no parking, 24hr access required".
If you do not to put a chain up what about cones, put 4 cones accross the front of your property so they cannot park but still allows no.1 access.
they would then have to move a physical barrier to park on your property but as it is movable you would not be restricting valid access (i.e. turning etc).0
